Probably a dumb question
Hey guys,
First mud motor I have ever even been around is now mounted to my boat. I am pumped to try it out in the next few weeks once I get the gas tank/battery hooked up.
Here is my dumb question. WIth the motor mounted and the shaft sticking out the back of the boat it really looks to me like the prop angle is pretty great. I don't know s*** from s*** when it comes to these MM but that seems pretty extreme to me, or is this the intended angle? It looks like the SD props face straight ahead, I know they are a different setup but the prop looks like more conventional then the LT on my boat.
Someone enlighten me here.
Thanks guys, I have learned a lot from this sight.

Re: Probably a dumb question
On the trailer my GoDevil longtail almost touches the ground behind my GoDevil boat.... The angle looks odd - it looks like it is too deep - etc...
But - while underway - that cavitation plate causes the prop to run just a few inches below the surface - actually "finds" it's own sweet spot in the water....
At WOT (wide open throttle) and going 20mph in a straight line - I can let go of it completely and it will run itself (if the boat is balanced) - with the cavitation plate just an inch below water...
That is your goal -- you might need to tweak things to get it to do that...
After you run it - post back for tips on tweaking it... Be sure to give all the details of your boat, motor, prop pitch, and motor size - etc...
Good Runnings...

Re: Probably a dumb question
Giga..........thanks for the info, all starting to make sense now....lol
Not sure what the actually part is called but the guard piece just below the prop actually does touch the ground on mine.
I will post up how it goes when I try it out.
