 pods question
I was running a 25 hp lt. I just bought a 35 hp sd. I dont know if its a mental thing or what but it seems to draw more water in the back than before. Since most of my hunting is done on hard bottom instead of mud I was wondering if pods would benifit me. My boat is the 1845gd. What are the pros and cons for pods? I stepped up to the sd to gain speed. Will I lose some of it if i go to the pods? Do they help starting out in hard bottom skinny water? Any help would be very appreciated. thanks

 Re: pods question
Its sittin lower because this motor is heavier.
A 18x54 should be more than enough to float it properly. pods are ment to be used on a boat that was too short to support the wieght, it gives more lift near the motor
How fast are you running now? post some pics of your rig.

 Re: pods question
I'm running 25 mph with me 300 lbs and one other guy 245lbs and with 2 other guys and gear was about 21 mph. It's not that it dosen't float right just wondering if it would help me run skinner in the water with hard bottom.

 Re: pods question
Just run it how it is. Pods will kill your reverse, shorten da amount you can turn your motor, and force da boat to run too flat killin you speed. Your boat is a good size for dat motor. Just enjoy it and kills sum ducks.

 Re: pods question
Its got a 12" prop on it and it also has power trim on it. I don't know if thats what you mean by other hole. Didn't notice a speed difference between 2 or 1 person. Don't get me wrong its not that its not working with boat maybe I just wanted more than was possible out of the rig. Same spot my buddy had to push his Beavertail out to get going. By the way good eyes guys didn't see it myself but its only 44 not 45.

 Re: pods question
The GTR has 3 holes - or pivot points - from which it can run....
The GTR guys I know like WestEndAngler can advise you better as to what the advantages of the change of holes will do.... But I have seen and read of significant performance changes by just swapping that lil pin to the other hole.... If you were in the water you would reach over the transom and down almost to the waterline to reach it - on the bottom of the MM transom mounting bracket.... Just below your trailering bracket... It looks like you are in the middle hole - try the bottom one - seems like that is the one most of them like best....
It is a simple change - you might find a performance boost by experimenting with the other 2 holes or pivot points....
Good Luck !
PS - sell me that hull before you put pods on it - LOL
