Post ? about boat motor combo
i have a 15x42 polar kraft LD AW. This boat is set up with 25 merc and runs great. Got a deal on a low hours 23 mb sport. My ? is how will this boat perform with this motor. I already know i will have to build up the transom. The boat is built like a tank and is in great shape. I just dont want to put the money into it if its not going to perform well. Im willing to sell the boat and buy a better performing hull, if that is the thing i need to do. All comments greatly appreciated.

Is it a short or tall transom?
Weight of the motor could be a big issue with the back end sitting low in the water.
You will probably lose some mph with the mud buddy.
You shouldnt be concerned with speed unless you are in Bayou Meto running ditches like a raped ape.
Other than that thats the only cons i can think of.
mud buddy should be a safe bet for that boat

boat is a short and motor is tall. thats not my concern as i have a good friend who fabs for a living. wondering if the boat can handle the extra weight and kinda wondered what kind of speeds i could get out of it.

as for it handling weight it shouldnt be a problem as long as its in the Hp requirment of the boat.
As for speed you can be anywhere in the ball park of a high of 28 by yourself and with another person and gear around lower 20's.
Are you looking for speed?
If so stick with the outboard.
