Post wallisville lake project hunting
I know there is some guys on this forum who hunt this area especially on the the north side of I-10 heading back towards Lost Lake. I had a hunter come confront me that he had a permit in this area that me and my dad hunt all the time. I know the rules and regulations to hunt this place and unfortanutely I did not get a permit area this year to hunt, but you can hunt without a permit on a first serve basis . He got there before me a couple of weeks ago and without saying anything I just left. I decided last Sunday to get there early and set up he decided to come and try to BS his way for us to leave. I have been hunting this area since teal season without seeing him there. I asked him to show his permit which I already knew that the color blue is this years permits and are to be seen by fellow hunters who are trying to acess the area. He could not provide nothing so he decided to do us a favor and let us hunt there that day. I hate to argue with people especially who have guns because that just causes problems and could lead to someone getting hurt. This person had a Go-Devil boat and with poling platform and 35HP surface Drive. This is not cool. What permit number are you by the way? You want to write about it!!!!

It is not illegal to fix a blind from last year. Actually if you leave your blind from last year then you cannot get a permit for the following year. He is allowed to fix up any blind that was left. As for a permit. They do get stolen. I've got two permits and both have been stolen. I just show people the website with my number or call the ranger and let her tell you to GTFO. My permits aren't anywhere near lost lake but I have had to kick people out of my blinds and clean beer bottles out etc. No offense, but if it was my blind that I paid for I'd ask you to leave too.

I understand that but according to the employee at the ranger station the permit needs to be accessible for everyone to see. The map that was e-mailed to me shows no blind to be where he is stating it to be. Someone wants to call me out on this forum on a different post which there are great people by the way who have helped me out many times with issues in the past. Than tell me your permit number where you state it is and be done with it. The map is accessible to the public anyways to see.

According to the ranger station if there is a blind without a permit than it is legal to hunt that area regardless who fixed it. I would have left if he just told me his permit number. I know when I scouted that area there wasn't a permit and when teal season came around there wasn't no permit there. I hunted there opening day, and again no permit in the area. I have hunted most of the season there with no issues and (no permit in the area).

Not to ****** your thread but what kills me, blind or no blind involved. When folks pull into the area your hunting 10 to 20 minutes before shooting time and they are pissed about you getting there first. When you have been there since 4:30 am waiting for the hours to count down until shooting time, lol.

Lol, it only takes me about ten minutes also, but I want the spot more then the next guy, that's why I rise out of bed at 1:30 to make sure I secure my hunting grounds for the morning, then play the good ol shine you down with the spotlight technique when the guy at 10 till tries to sneak in and set up.

Permits are BS at Wallisville they need to do away with them.

Talk to Giga he has a rediculous number of blinds out there.

Post Re: wallisville lake project hunting
Are you the guy with the Pr-drive rig and yellow lab? The one that skybusts geese 150 yards high and that are obviously responding to others calling them then running the bank within 150 yards of another party looking for some mysterious bird or gold or something because it sure as he77 wasn't a duck or goose, and then the following weekend joy riding through a slough, doing donuts, etc within 100 yards of someone elses spread then getting stuck. Stuck for a good 10 minutes while you continuosly give it the full throttle go nowhere attempt at getting out before your bud, that likes ridin with his feet hangin over the bow, decides get out to help push you out while you stay on the throttle? If this is you, then you have burned me twice! And I garantee that I plan to tell you face to face my disgust with your actions.

I would like to mention that others are hunting that area. Skybusting does nothing but educate birds and make things bad for others. When you leave,,,,, leave without jacking up others hunts. Get your crap together and go to the ramp. Don't go playing around trying to impress your buddy with your rigs ability to get stuck in hard bottom shallow sloughs.

And by the way, that blind is permitted, the permit is up to date, and if the ranger were to be called you would be forced to leave. You are not allowed to hunt within 200 yards of a permitted blind, no matter what time you get there. I wouldn't care if you spent the night out there. If you are within 200 yards or in a permitted blind(and no that is not my permitted blind but I know who's it is) then you are in the wrong and should move. If your in my blind and I'm by myself or just me and my boy I may ask you to hunt with us. However, if your rude to me, I'm gonna be rude right back.

And yes, the blind is on the map.

With all that being said, I can be a friend or a true arsehole, You make the choice.

LOL SERVED!!!! :o

And yeah, that blind is permitted. Ive hunted it with the owner a few times. Its cool he let you hunt it. I doubt he will now after your post. Most people out there are pretty cool but if you are in a permitted blind, then some will be dicks. I was cool the first time someone was in my blind. By the fourth time, right as i exited the cut I was balls deep in someones deeks. Needless to say his deeks saw better days. After a while it gets annoying and we get rude. We pay money and work hard to set and grass blinds. When we see hunters who put in no work hunting and tearing up our blinds, it isn't cool. Next year, im sure we will see you at the drawing for blinds.

CanjunDans ~ I like yore style !!!! :D

Ifin' anybody ever wants to go "FeeLancin'" other spots to hunt ..... do yore research and lurn the rules fo that particular area .... thats all you gots to do ... and everybody is then happy !!!!

"Scoutin' DuckByrds" ...... Thats a phrase I wurshed would have never made it to the syene ....

Lots of folks now have these MudMotorMacineThangs and thays be callin' it scoutin' when in fact all thay is doin' is ridin' 'round annoyin' the DuckByrds. Years ago ... folks scouted with bi-nocklers and long hikes/wades .....

All was handled through PM with Canvasbackdrake. It's all good.

and he is welcome in my blind anytime.

WestEndAngler,

Permitted blinds have been out there since you were crapping yellow and sucking your thumb. The rules haven't changed for as long as I can remember. You think those are bad, you should have seen it way back when the marsh had an orange glow in the dark.

It's easy, you get on the list, choose your blind location, build a blind, and go to hunt for the season. It sure beats the he77 out of sittin on the ground. Scouting will move you around alot but when you have a few younger people with you or aren't willing to go stomping around in the mud, you hunt your blind. It really works great when the weather is bad. Bring a cook stove, bacon and eggs with fresh coffee is pretty dang nice when it's raining and nasty out. If someone is in your blind,,,, well they have the option to leave. They knew it wasn't their blind and took the chance on the owner not showing up.

I hunted a pond in my sub division this morning. I set up my layout blind right under the big water display of fountains in the center those damn park ducks never seen me coming. Shot a limit of inbred duck in no time it took longer to put out the bread crumbs then too shoot the ducks. You can p.m. Me for gps coordinates.
