I killed several of those That is great eating I think it is better than whitetail

He almost made 30". There was another with him that was a little longer, but I thought this deer looked a little better. I've killed other axis before and I agree, the do taste better than whitetail. If you guys think axis tastes good, you really need to try Sitka Blacktail. I shot one last November on Kodiak Island. By far, the best deer I have ever eaten. I've also shot Fallow, Sika, Blackbuck Antelope, Audad (don't eat it), and several rams. As far as wild big game taste #1. Sitka Blacktail, #2 Nilgai Antelope, #3 Axis, #4 Whitetail. I'll let you know in August how Pronghorn Antelope taste.
