Who in their right mind would pay those kind of rates. I wouldn't pay that of I was a billionaire. 40k for 3 nights. He'll I can buy some descent land for that and hunt for a long time

That's only about $550 per hunter per night/hunt including first class food and lodging, a guide, cleaned ducks, shells, a gun, blind upkeep and the best lodging and duck hunting money can buy. Just a guided hunt is about $300 now a days anywhere. If I had to calculate what it cost me this year per hunt, it would be more than that.

This is a political fundraiser where the sponsor is refunded the costs from the donations first. Gov. Bobby Jindal, and many others use this facility for this purpose. The owner is a former high profile political figure so he caters to this funding source.

I took my hunting buddy there for two days last season ,worth every penny even if you don't kill a duck. We had a slow moring hunt a real good evening and a great moring hunt. Wonderfull food and drink interesting company.

I could not buy a bird in hopedale last year after the first split, had a young dog I wanted to put on birds. I bought the day at a auction.
