Post phowler or gt hide
gonna get my first duck boat. Looking at phowler w/ 2 in 1 or gatortrax 3man hide. Looking for opinions on the two. Hunt mostly in upper midwest so cold n ice type conditions mainly. want to set up for hunting only so boat being versatile not a real big concern. would most likely put pd w/ fpr on back thanx for input guys n gals

3 man hides are nice to hunt from, very easy to hide just about anywhere with the lower profile. they will haul a load pretty well. if they wasnt so huge it would be my next boat. if your looking for a used one a buddy of mine is considering selling his if your interested

The pd and the hunt deck on the Hide arent the best combo.

IMO I would get a normal mud boat and build my own removeable hide frame that way you could take it off when you dont duck hunt. You could prolly insulate it better too.

The tiller handle on a PD is rigid, it kicks down with the rest of the frame when you hit somethin.

The tiller is long enough to hit the huntdeck when it does, if your thumb is in the wrong spot its gunna hurt.

I would make my own out of plywood or alum. depending on your budget and insulate it with that solid foam sheet insulation. You may can make solid flip doors and insulate them too, or sew part of a sleepin bag to the soft one maybe. :?:

We have a 3 man hide with the prodrive. YOu will need a tiller extension if you go with this set up,
and no the tiller doesn't hit anything if you encounter a submerged object. Performance wise it is no speed demon! With two guys(450lbs), lab(45), guns/bags, 9 dz deeks, and misc and fresh prop, 9gal gas we can do around 22-23. You can disappear in this thing thats for sure.
