I cannot get my freakin PROP off my 23 HP GD surface drive. I don't have a prop wrench that fits it, any secrets or really good lubes in getting these SOBs off? Thanks!

They say Giga has some good GD lube. But I don't know for sure.

WD40 a block of wood and a dead blow hammer. Aw and make sure your beating the right way.

You need to heat the hub of the prop with a torch, until it glows. It will torque off easily then.

Or you can hold the set nut with a crescent wrench and hit the prop blade with a sledge hammer. I use a cinder block to set the skeg on top of so there is little movement of the shaft. Destroys the prop, but sometimes gets it off.

is it threaded? they sell prop wrenches at home depot...

2"x.25" flat bar with the appropriate size hole should work.

spray the nut down with a penetrating lubricant like PB break first.

Wow !! It's taken less than minute to take one off and put back on!! Just saying !!
