Welding Aluminum Plate on Phowler rear pod
I want to have someone weld an aluminum plate, with 2 conduit receivers, on the rear pod for a grab bar on a Phowler 1848. Since the pod has a block of floatation, is there any concern with the floatation catching fire since the aluminum on the pod is going to have to get heated up pretty good.
Thanks for any input.

Tell your welder to not blow holes thru the hull and you should be fine.

Thanks Mc. He just said the aluminum will get very hot and wanted to make sure. But it is closed cell foam block which should be better than loose foam, I hope.
