 New Duck Boat
This is not the Beaver dan jumping, asphault running, 39.87689 MPH boats you guys run in LA but it fits my style perfectly. I have hunted a AA Wigeon with a long tail for years. I wanted more room and speed so when I found this hull I jumped on it. I took it to the shop and Gator Glided it. Then had to find a trailer. At 13'6" and 64" wide a normal trailer would not work well. Found one almost new in Orlando that was made for a Zodiac that was perfect. Wide with a low toungh and still had tits on the radial tires. Next was to order the motor and prep the hull. Had to cut 3" off the transome and refiberglass to get the 15" Copperhead recommends. The motor was drop shipped to my shop thanks to Lamarr. After the 100 things that need to be done I test drove it for the first time. Since I was breaking it in the fastest I saw on the GPS was 23.8 MPH. Now after the first breakin oil change I'm sure it's faster and it roots. Best of all it hides great and has room for all my duck hunting stuff. I'm very happy with this build and can't think of anything I would change. I've since installed LED interior light, a switch panel, bilge pump.running lights and have a camo stecil kit and paint to apply.

 Re: New Duck Boat
Thats a pretty neat setup. Very low profile. Not being a smartass. . . Being fiberglass and running 23.8. What happens if you hit a stump?

 Re: New Duck Boat
Nice lil ride... I been thinking about a 6hp on a momarsh fat boy dp as my sneak boat... tired of the birds landing out in the middle of the lake in the later part of the season... gonna go low profile on their feathery a**

 Re: New Duck Boat
I think you were a senior when my Dad was a freshman. He may have been a sophmore, I don't remember what year he graduated. You play football?

 Re: New Duck Boat
I'll be hunting in it this weekend and will have new batteries in my GPS. Will post WFO speeds next week. Still adding a few comfort features but so far this boat is a one man duck hunting machine plus the run to the ramp in the daylight is a blast.

 Re: New Duck Boat
Running WFO in the mud this weekend I saw 24.6 gps with me and my hunting gear. Boat hides so well I've had Egrets try to land on the motor. Gator Glide and HP saved my ass last Saturday when I ran up on a mud flat in the fog. Not muddy but solid moist mud. When the fog cleared I rooted right out. A great boat to hunt out of and very fun to drive.
