totally agree, sage grouse taste just like there name, "sagebrush", I hunt ducks and have never eattin' a coot, or a galinule. What is the comparison to a mallard, just curious cause no one here hunts coots?

galinule is a really white meat, its the best of the best, hands down.

Hell I never even seen one of those things round here much less shot and cleaned one. The look just like a coot with a bunch of color on em though, wouldn't figure the meat was that different.
Do y'all see a lot of them down there.

Never seen either. I thought y'all were talking about the bottom ones though. So if I see one with red on it like the top one I'LL make sure to bust his ass and try some of that white coot meat.

If he's talking about what we call a Sage Hen, it's a Rail. Mostly Virginia Rails here.
