Post Alligning pulleys ?
Whats the best way to allign the motor and drive pulleys? I've got an 05 mb 36" drive. Should I try to use some sort of straight edge or eye ball it? Is it real critical that they are perfectly inline or is there some tolerance I can use up?

I'm just finishing up a basket case rebuild and got my tension tool in the mail today along with a new tach. Now all I need is my pipes and it'll be time for the maden voyage and shake down cruise; up river of course in case I f'ed up and did something wrong I can still float back home

Use a straight edge or pull a piece of string tight over the face of one pulley and make sure it it contacts the face of the other pulley when you pull it tight. If the alignment is off the string will only hit the one side of the face.
