Post Lets talk truck bumpers.
I have a 2011 Chevy 2500 HD and going to put new front and rear bumpers along with a winch on my truck. I have looked at Ranchhand and really like them. As you know the stock 2011 front bumpers are fairly large. I launch my fishing boats on some nasty boat ramps and have been nearly stuck three times this winter. If not for my new mud tires I would still be there. The ramps are remote with no cell signal. So the walk could be a long one.
I am asking what you have, have seen, know of or suggest. Thanks. Randy

Ranch hand's are over rated, $ wise. Renegade bumpers are significantly cheaper, but built with with same quality, if not stouter. I've bought several front and rear replacements from them. I buy factory direct bc they're made here in Waco and I have a connection. To sweeten the deal, I usually buy bumpers that dont pass the Powder coat test, but with as much as I use mine, I'm ok with that. I paid 450 for front, 250 for rear. Perry-co.com is their website

I have the ARB with a 12000lb. I love it looks great.Saved my ass a few time.Drags an Elk up a tree with no probs.Plus it protects the front end of my truck if i was to hit a deer or Elk i could still drive.Thats nice runniing a canyon at 3 in the morning with no one around.I need to put a rear bumper on but cant find one that is smooth not dimond plate.

Randy, there is a TON of different bumpers out there! RanchHand, Tough Country, FabFours, RoadArmor, etc...... I sell all of them and more out of my shop. Alot of them have waiting lists right now for their products. In todays economy they are not getting parts piled up like they use too. If you have any questions on any of them, feel free to call me or p.m. me.

If you want to Ungly up your truck get one of them ugly MOFO's. There aren't many that look good and are functional. I would rather have one custom made totLook good, becasue its going cost you alot of cash anyways. So you might aswell get what you want. Most of the prefabs are way too bulky IMO.

If you really need one they can be handy. But with most people around here, the most use they get out of them is pushing shopping carts out of the way at the mall...

Yep, Chase and Josh yall both make good points. A hard impact with a replacement will Fork your frame up pretty good because the 1/2" Mounting brackets and the 3/16" frame dont go well together. But just for the everyday Jobubba, I think most of them Look like ass. If you keep them Stockish size but make them stronger and have good lines I will approve anyday of the week, BUT the huge 4" pipe and expanded metal are stylish on the 80's model trucks, Not a 50k 2000 year + truck.
ash for pushing shopping carts the stock bumper is sufficent lol.

Evan House is the owner/ operator. I grew up with Evan and my brother even worked for him for a few months until he got a job in his degree field. Give him a call. He will build anything you want and make it look good. Because he is a small business, he can beat any of the "name brand" guys on price. He has built stuff for my jeep and my truck. Can't say enough good things about him and his products.

My brother had one on the front of his truck when a drunk lady pulled out in front of him when he was pulling a ski boat. He locked up the brakes but still, plowed into her. He shortend her ride by about a foot and it barely even knocked the truck bed coating off his bumper.

One more thing...

The number listed on his site is his personal cell. That should tell you all you need to know about a business man right there.

Thanks guys. I have a RH grill guard right now on my truck. I need a winch on the front for sure for sure. You guys gave me some info to look at and ponder over. Thanks.
In regards to Onstar you are right. When I bought my truck I had a free couple months. I was late getting off the river one winter day and my wife was really concerned as I was at least a hour and half away from home. No cell service. She thought Onstar and called them. I had just pulled the boat out of the water and warming up with a cup of coffee when the Onstar guy connected us. Made her feel alot better. I'm ready for a winch now.

Looks like yall talking about fullsize bumpers but I got one from Shrockworks.com for my 06 Tacoma and it could be made tougher.

I tossed the shock works and arb back and forth, I think the shrockworks is built better and it's a straight bolt on, comes with bracket that hook back on the frame to stiffen everything up. By far the toughest thing on the truck, hit a tree and total the truck then put the bumper on your new truck....

The RH Legend front bumper and the RH Legend rear bumper is the number one on the list. RH has a depot about thirty miles from my home in Jasper,Indiana. When I bought my RH brush guard I was able to skip the shipping cost and pay by credit card for the bumper. I then was advised to go to the depot and pick it up. I bought the guard through a place in Oklahoma.
Damon are you able to do the same thing? if so PM me so we can talk turkey.
