It'll work! Put your battery and tank in the front.

It'll work, I have a 31 mb sd on a 1648 weld bilt, it porpoised real bad when I was alone and after I moved my gas tank and battery up forward it helped but wasn't enough, I was thinking about trim tabs, and the dealer that sold me the boat said I had to put wedges under the boat, then I called the boat dr and he told me just to weld a single pass bead on the bottom of the boat as far back as I can starting from the outside going in about 6" or 8" long on each side and that's all it took. I was told that trim tabs and wedges will kill the performance and being these aren't "true mud hulls" i can't afford to loose any performance.

Just make sure who ever does it can weld that thin aluminum, it can be a little tricky

Thanks guys. I was thinking about a mud buddy, I want to buy a brand new one just where i would know the history of the motor, I'm alittle scared about buying a used one because I kind of think of it like a fourwheeler, seems like it would be common for people to rag them out

Hey quack how does that boat do in the mud? Are you happy with it and what kind of speeds are you getting out of that setup

It does good, a lot better then I thought, I used my long tail up until the end of this past duck season then I bought the mud buddy sd, so I haven't put it through the complete test, but the few times I put it through the mud it did good. And as far as the speed it's like apples and oranges compared to my long tail, I'm getting between 27 and 28mph, and when I went fishing with two ice chest and a buddy I didn't loose much top end at all, just my hole shot slowed down some, I guess since the boat is so light that has a lot to do with it. Oh and I do recommend beefing up the transom, that's my next step.
