Post Would you or do you have a 40" shaft on your MB
Looking at a new motor and am contemplating a 40" shaft and I was wandering if any of you are running one and if you like it?

I'm running mostly in lakes of which are hard clay to sandy bottom and a little on the Texas Coast which is mostly of hard sand. I'm hopping with this longer shaft it will help with the harder bottoms.

I run one for the reason of the hard bottom sand and river rock... I can jump on plane faster in deep water and I have yet to have my rock gaurd hit the bottom of the river in 90 hours of use since I made the switch... but just a heads up you better hang on to the tiller when you start giving the motor some gas once on step its not a great amount of tiller torque...

I have a 40 inch shaft on my homebuilt short tail and am pleased with the performance.

I am in the process of changing from a Longtail 72" to a surface drive 40" 4500 Black Death actually I've already ordered it and they just called and said its built ready for shipment. I'm just trying to figure out what to expect.

P.S.
My longtail is listed in the Classified

I really hate to burst your bubble maybe I'm just getting lucky but almost every time I call they answer. I am buying direct from them and going through Clint he has been very helpful and taken the time to really talk to me and find out what all I am looking for in a motor. I made the purchase last Monday and it shipped out yesterday its in Dallas changing trucks and headed to Houston to go on route.

Why on earth don't u guys use a local dealer/mechanic for service and tech support? It doesn't make sense to buy something new, with warranty, if u can't bring it somewhere to have warranty work performed. U get what u deserve if u buy a MB and have to drive 4 hours to have it serviced. U should have gotten a motor that has a service center closer to you.
I realize that isn't possible with everyone, for those, u should be able to perform work on it yourself.

I've found that women are like condoms, they spend more time in your wallet than on your dick

Still not sure how they are like a mudmotor though.
