Med, The WALL is VERY...... I have been twice & it gives me a storm of emotions each time. There is no way to put a single word where the periods are.

 Re: Memorial Day weekend
Many of the books I've read from the Vietnam era mostly deal with the LRRPs. Everything is nonfiction and written by the guys that were there. It was such a tight knit group that many of the names overlap to the different books. Even though I have absolutely no idea who these ppl are I do know some of the shitstorms that they weathered for their brothers and our country. There are a few guys that I would really like to say hello to and thank them for what they did.
That's one feeling that I really regret missing out on. The comraderie among soldiers. In things that I read the reoccurring theme seems to be joining to serve your country but the blood, sweat, tears, and sacrifice turns out to be for the guy next to you. If I could turn back time I would join in a minute.

 Re: Memorial Day weekend
I keep a list in my wallet so when I buy a book I can check and make sure I don't have it.
*edited.... No I haven't. Started to buy it on my phone a while back

 Re: Memorial Day weekend
Well my campsite got flooded last night during a nasty thunderstorm so my weekend plans are shot to hell. At least I got to fish for a day...

Well, so far I went fishing, boat wouldn't go into gear, so we (dad and I) idled in and I had to swim the bastard to the ramp. I'm calm and drinking now. Lol

If you would have had a GTR the prop would still spin In neutral and you wouldn't have been in that situation.
Them boys thought of everything!

Shook hands with a WWII veteran and thanked him for his service to our country. Bought dinner for a Korean War vet and his wife.

 Re: Memorial Day weekend
Friday night.....beer at the first heat of the Jambalaya cook off. Saturday, helped number three son cook in the mini pot jambalaya cook off, good jamb, but did not place headed out to Hard Rock for some Colbie Callait and Gavin DeGraw for the wifes mother's day present, dinner at Ruth's Chris then the show and a night of ..........well...........you get it. then headed back home for and evening on the Blind River at the camp with friends and family. Number three son tumbled on the knee board and two butterfly stiches later was back in the water. AC hand grenaded that evening so we loaded up an spent yesterday at the house around the pool with family.
All in all a great weekend honoring those that served in our own way, and spending quality time with family.
It's weekends like this, where I run around making everyone happy, that allow me the time I need during hunting season.

 Re: Memorial Day weekend
Sunday morning, took my unc out and he caught his limit of reds. I didn't catch one keeper. Had to leave early because my uncle parked his car at my boat storage and they called a tow truck on him. Pretty upset about this one, as we have been very good customers over a year!!! We made it in time though, before it was towed. Sunday evening, before launching the boat, watched as lifelight took one away in critical condition, 1 dead. Very sad. Buddy caught his limit of reds. I still couldn't catch a keeper. Broke my toe. Monday, put a buddy on his limit of keeper reds. Still couldn't catch a keeper. I had the bad mojo this weekend but the fishing was still good and have blisters from catching all the rat reds, croaker, and black drum.
