 GTR and Regular Transom
I like the look of how guys have their GTR's mounted and rigged really tidy on boats with hunt decks. I had planned on getting a regular style transom on a new boat. I haven't seen photos of how guys have battery cables and fuel hose rigged clean over the transom on a regular transom boat. Will y'all post a few photos of how you have done it please? I'm split between a regular transom and a sport deck style transom.
Thanks a ton fellas.

 GTR and Regular Transom
With a GTR I would just get a huntdeck.

 Re: GTR and Regular Transom
I have a sport deck on mine, both cable and fuel lines hang almost straight down. Battery cable is fairly short and runs directly to the battery. (not in the way) Fuel line runs straight down and under the false floor to the tank in the front. Only thing I've seen with the way i have it is the a minute amount of paint has been rubbed off from the cables swaying on long road trips. Doesnt really bother me... its a damn mud boat.
PM Brown Duck on here, he has a standard transom on a Uncle J if you really want to see it.
EDIT: Its not letting me upload the picture for some reason... Tony Help?

 Re: GTR and Regular Transom
Thanks 3CK, I appreciate that. I think I like the idea of a sport deck, kind of the best of both worlds. It would be easier to hide/store things in the back of your boat as well.

 Re: GTR and Regular Transom
You can make install look clean and tidy if you spend the time to do it. It doesn't matter what you've got for a transom. I don't know where you're at in mn, but you're more than welcome to come see mine just south of lacrosse, wi. I've got a GTR on an Uncle J with a sport transom.

 Re: GTR and Regular Transom
I live near the Twin Cities, I'm in Chaska to be exact. We make it down that way often enough to bowfish and duck hunt, and if it's not a problem I'd love to check out your rig. I'd like to pick your brain about ordering a boat and getting everything back up here etc. as well.
Thanks for the offer, I tried to send you a PM but it wouldn't let me.

 Re: GTR and Regular Transom
I was thinking that on a standard transom, an iinteresting way to do it would be to have a deck run the width of the hull across the back, where a hunt deck would be, except that it would be full height. It would be kind of like an extended deck is on the bow-room for battery, etc underneath-not a full box.

 Re: GTR and Regular Transom
I built an approximately 16" platform like that that goes across my boat and I've never had the motor hit it. I have my dog hunt of it and it works great.

 Re: GTR and Regular Transom
Let's see if it works posting a pic from my phone. The opening on the near side is to get at the plug from the outside of the boat easily.

 Re: GTR and Regular Transom
Yep-exactly like that! Thanks WM. Is it permanently attatched/welded in place, or is it removable? I was thinking that having it be removable would be nice so you could access the rigging and transom more easily if needed.

It's removable. Held in place with one pin.
