 Re: Dixie Mud Motors
Dixie motors are straight turds, heard from a few people when I first seriously got into buying one and 9/10 people said they've had problems with em, that's why I went out this weekend and bought a copperhead and for anybody who say copperhead doesn't stand behind their products your pretty wrong bc I've met the owner and his son and I can say they def stand behind their products couldn't be happier with my copperhead don't waste your money on a Dixie their poorly built and unreliable you get what you pay for just saying COPPERHEAD ALL DAY IS THE WAY TO GO

 Re: Dixie Mud Motors
Turds? Na, malfunctions yes. But Ben stands behind his products. I had a couple issues with the frame before I ever even bought it and we collaborated and beefed up the frame a lot. There will be things that go wrong with everyone's products, gator tails have caught on fire. Gator tail stands behind their products and fixes issues. So does dmm. Could they be prevented? Yea. Dixie is still developing their product. In a couple years, reguardless of who says they will fail, they will be every bit as big as copper head, maybe even gator tail or pro drive. They're a new company still, hell I gave them a shot, I've had nothing but good experiences with them, they will work with you on every aspect of your motor. From price to modifications. I'd be glad to show anyone what my stock 35 can do and the punishment it can take. Granted I've only had it two weeks, I'm 100% convinced it will stand up to just as much punishment as a copperhead or anything else.

 Re: Dixie Mud Motors
I'm just gonna start off by saying YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR be cheap and you'll get cheap products spend the extra little money and get a product that has that extra durability and reliability and na I don't needa know 10 people. Thats what you get on the Internet and do research for like I did buddy Talked to 2 people on Craigslist before i bought a copperhead that was selling their 10 hp and come to find out they couldn't sell it bc the shaft broke on em. I'm not downing Dixie I'm just saying you get what you pay for Go through what I go through with your Dixie and my copperhead and see who's last longer my money's on the copperhead

 Re: Dixie Mud Motors
I have a Dixie and it was one of the first 10 Ben ever sold. I never once had a problem with it and it caught hell. The only reason its getting redone now is to update it to the new aluminum frame, carb, exhaust, and tilt. It did just fine and never once gave any trouble.
Anybody that doughts these motors I would be more than happy to take you for a ride. I promise you dont get better customer service anywhere else.

 Re: Dixie Mud Motors
I would take a ride in the Dixie Any time what im saying is that I wouldn't not buy a Dixie based on everything I've heard bad about them People say how good of motors they are but it seems to me that the odds are stacked against them on making good quality mud motors i mean he's selling them so cheap how does he make a good quality mud motor amd still make a good quality profit unless he uses cheap stuff? I have no reason to hate on Dixie the reviews I've read and the people I've talked too are the reason I don't trust the motors. Just too many bad reviews to good reviews

 Re: Dixie Mud Motors
Yea since newer products are always the cheapest when they first come out I don't recall go devil, gator tail, mud buddy or copperhead being cheap when they first come out their expensive bc their built tough and rugged for the purpose of what their made for and hey if the man wants to build motors for cheap and make very little profit than more power to him I don't own a Dixie so I can't trash them but obviously there is people out there that does own a Dixie and feels the same way I do Just saying

here are some pics mud slinger had me take. I have some video as well plowing through the phrag.
This is a pic of his buddy running a 6.5hp @ 19mph. The motor has been souped up.
Oh and I'm new to being an owner of a MM, but not to the duck hunting/mm scene. Here is my baby.

 Re: Dixie Mud Motors
I’m new to the forum but have significant experience in structural design & strength of materials. I’ve been in private practice for the last 25 years in Florida. Started out as a structural steel detailer and inspector. Worked & hunted my way through college until I finally graduated with a degree in engineering.
The Dixie Mud Motor that I received is very well constructed. Ben utilized the finest components and the welds are solid. They build a quality product and stand behind the sale.
I am very happy with my purchase.
Best of Luck.
