 Re: Dixie Mud Motors
Went and got another hull for mine today. Got a 1648 alumacraft with mod v. I will post some speeds after taking it out. All the guys at the marine store were surrounding my Dixie though. Convinced one guy he needs to try the 35 and when I went in the office he was on the website lol.

 Re: Dixie Mud Motors
Yes it was a new one. I went with that instead of flat Bc I don't get in bad mud areas mostly fish flats. Most of the time to get to the fish flats I have to ride in deep channels and the waves rode like crap on my old flat bottom. I'm hoping that this boat will cut the ocean waves a little better .

 Re: Dixie Mud Motors
I just put an order in for the 10 hp dixie mm as well. Talking to Ben for about a week read forums too. He seems like a good and honest person to deal with. He did say it will be 5 - 6 weeks to get the motor built. I guess iI'll post up my reviews and videos when I get the motor.

 Re: Dixie Mud Motors
Sorry if I am repeating, but a friend bought a 14 Honda Dixie SD and put it on a 1542 rivetted alumacraft hull and he's doing 25.6 mph (gps) in the marsh and he tricked up the carb and is probably around 17 HP with it and it appears after several trials, to be a dandy product and all power to the marketplace!

 Re: Dixie Mud Motors
Took the new hull out today. On a 1648 alumacraft with no slick bottom and 2 people, 3 batteries and gas got 25.1 mph. Love this 23.

 Re: Dixie Mud Motors
Thinking about ordering a 23hp Dixie. Is it worth getting the electric clutch option and the power trim? I know the trim option is usually a good option anyways but just wanted to see if they are holding up. Had read somewhere that the electric clutch on the Dixie's were burning up? Also did y'all go through a dealer to get your motor or did you order directly from Ben at Dixie?

Order directly from Ben. Def at least get the trim. I wish I would have and now will be adding it to mine. You won't regret the 23!

 Re: Dixie Mud Motors
Is the motor balanced? If so probly don't have to have the clutch right off the bat.

 Re: Dixie Mud Motors
I'll try to take one tomorrow when I'm out. It's a light alumacraft boat so it flies in the water. I have no reason to lie as I'm not a dealer just a happy customer.
Georgia- I am not going with a clutch just trim. I work in the landscape field and see clutches go all the time. I think the power trim should give you all u need.

 Re: Dixie Mud Motors
You wont regret a 23. I cant wait to get mine back with all the work thats going into it. I will deffinatly get a vid of what it will do. After Ben finishes mine and fine tunes it, there will be a kit avalible for the 23's.

 Re: Dixie Mud Motors
I love the motor. I was planning on takin a video yesterday but my trolling motor screwed up on me so I was messing with that all day. With my fiancé, myself cooler and gear we got 23 in saltwater waves. Got stuck once but the 23 pushed in the sand and got us out.
