 Re: Dixie Mud Motors
Be paitent with them as they are a small crew. Ben is hard to get aholt of because he is in the shop building motors with his guys. I just got off the phone with him and they were just leaving the shop at 9:00 trying to get motors out.
I promise you it will be worth the wait.

 Re: Dixie Mud Motors
The 23hp will push that boat very well. You can bend the gov tab so your at around 4000 out of the water. It will help.Got the 23 on a 15-48 G-3 and i love it.

I will be getting the 35 hp for my 15-48 G-3 the 23 hp will push it.But it is a heavy boat and needs a 35 hp.By myself its fine but with a load its just not enough motor.

 Re: Dixie Mud Motors
Just wondering what the wait time is right now. When I ordered mine he said it was gonna be a 6 week wait and now it is 12 weeks later since he cashed my check and I still haven't received my motor.

Not sure. I talked to Ben earlier this week about mine and they are filling the orders as quick as possible. I know how you feel, but it'll be worth the wait!

 Re: Dixie Mud Motors
You should be seeing your motor pretty soon if you have been waiting 12 weeks. They really are pushing as hard as they can and working crazy long hours to fill the orders. Like i have said before be paitent with them. There are only 4 men building motors and they really are busting ass trying to keep up.

 Re: Dixie Mud Motors
Been keeping quiet about all this but I have been running a 14hp Dixie for 6 months now. Other than slow customer service I have nothing but good things to say about them, quality motor at a great price. They are just getting really established but I hope that they are able to stick it out and become an established manufacturer, Ben works his ass off and more options in the MM field are always a good thing in my opinion. I'm running mine on a homebuilt 12'9" x 54" sneakboat, getting 25mph with just me, the dog and a bag of decoys. I haven't run it with 2 guys yet but I'm excited to see how much speed I can get out of it. I'll post some photos soon!

 Re: Dixie Mud Motors
When they finally hire a staff large enough to handle the demands on both the production side and cs side, the prices will go up. If they stay at the pace their on now, they will fail.

 Re: Dixie Mud Motors
CB, you may be right ,but for now he's putting out up to 15 units a week ,i'm not sure but is there any other company out there that are building that many MM in a week? it's doesn't sound like he is in a bad spot, ya granted some clients are pissed for having to wait a bit longer, but at the cost savings it's a no brainer, and the other choice is go buy something else for more money or sit tight and wait , A lot of people wait to the last min to buy like during duck season, he selling them faster then he can keep up , you know how it is they get mad until they get there product and if every thing works there not mad anymore . Dixie is a good product ,ran by a good man, that may have bit off more then he can chew not knowing this was going to take off at the rate it has, Good for him, i hope he sells the sh.t out them ,god knows he been working his ass off but hell thats the way it is, Hats off to him.

 Re: Dixie Mud Motors
I received my motor a couple of days after my post. Just to clear things up, I just wanted to know the wait time as I kept hearing from people on this site that it was six weeks. Ben is a great guy to deal with and I am looking forward to purchasing a 6.5 also next year.

 Re: Dixie Mud Motors
I would like to share a positive experience I had with Dixie. I bought two 10's from Ben, one for me and one for my buddy. I have 5 hours on mine and have it just about dialed in. Along the way I have had what I would call minor issues with the fit and finish. Nothing too big, bolts loosening and such. I spoke with Ben the other day and mentioned the problems I was seeing for no other reason than to let him know. While the issues were no big deal to me, Ben was very concerned. In the end, despite my protests, Ben is insisting on sending me a new motor. Since my duck season ends today, we agreed to wait till things slowed down to work out the details, but I am blown away. I can't ever remember buying something, being satisfied overall, and having the manufacturer insist on replacing the unit because it was a poor reflection of his work.

 Re: Dixie Mud Motors
mine is running good, tore up the marsh last weekend back of the boat looked like one of those super salad shooters, jumpin flotons hit a couple stumps. had 3 of us in it one day hitting speeds of 19mph on a 15' boat. and yes it was a lil cramped hunting. just gonna keep racking up the hours.

 Re: Dixie Mud Motors
i got a 17" transom and my belt box from the motor mount bracket to the bottom of the box is about 20" your motor should sit up at about 5" or 6" from the top of the transom to the bottom of your motor. are you swamping your boat? what is the bottom of the belt box at when your motor is trimmed level compared to the bottom of your hull?
