Post Removing governor on a small motor
Hey guys, I've recently done a home build with a predator motor and have been debating back and forth on replacing the valve springs, carb, flywheel, and exhaust as well as removing the governor on the motor. For those who have done it, is there a way to alter the governor to make it maintain a higher RPM? I'm sure I can hook a tach up it and alter the set screw to where it turns 4500-5k at WOT, but i did not know if anyone had another idea. I'm just trying to increase the performance on this motor as much as I can without sacrificing reliability. The last thing I want to do is end up 10 miles away from the truck with a rod out the side of the block...Thanks for the help!
