what aluminum grade to use?
im putting a 2' piece of sheeting across the front of my boat for my dog and to be able to mount lights. thinking 1/8" thick. of the following which is better 3003, 5052, or 6061 T6. or if i find a piece of scrap the right size does it really matter the grade?

Re: what aluminum grade to use?
I know this from shopping for aluminum for my floor, the strongest is somewhat brittle and a good hit could crack it instead of bend it, vice versa with the weakest, could be too flimsy. I would ask Aucoin or Brother Breaux, they use the stuff everyday.

Re: what aluminum grade to use?
Use the same material as your hull is made out of. Check the manufacturer website to find out.

Bingo
5052 is probably the most well rounded alloy of aluminum you can get meaning it has great anti-corrsion properties as well as can bend fairly easy but not too flimsy
I dont know it for a fact but probably the most common and easier to find unless you deal with a large supplier
