I'm sure it would work. That Subaru engine is built very strong, including a forged steel crank. The naturally aspirated, 720 cc robin advertises 28hp with EFI. With the turbo it should be easy to get well over 40hp, depending on how high you crank the boost. That's the good news. The bad news is I don't know anyone that makes a plug-and-play kit for the conversion. Once you have the turbo it must be mounted and connected to the intake and exhaust. It will probably have to be connected to the engines oil system, also. If you can do a little TIG welding that shouldn't be difficult. The Robin is an "open loop" injection system so you will have to change to larger injectors and probably remap the ECU.
Do you know if the computer software is available to tinker with the Robin ECU? I would like to see you go for it. Your experience might help me if I turbo the 29 Kohler (749cc EFI) or my home built EFI Briggs. In my opinion the Robin lower end and block is stronger than either the Kohler or Briggs, but displacement tops out at 720cc and the Kohler and Briggs big blocks are almost one liter. Displacement provides torque and forced induction is like adding displacement. I have worked with Ecotrons on my EFI Briggs project and have been pleased with both quality and customer service.

I've been looking at the engine and checking out some of the turbo bikes and carts.....the hardest part looks to be plumbing and brackets....I haven't even looked into the ecu and compatibility but ecotron sells a turbo ready efi system........this is all really beyond me as far as making it work, but it is a possibility for these engines......

How much boost that thing capable of? A turbo MM would be legit...spool the turbo up some then flip the clutch and nail it prolly get some mud moving.

It will work, its just being able to apply it to the Subaru....I don't think im tech enough to do it by myself..... it also looks like you would have to change to the turbo ready efi system ecotron sells....

I think that's gonna end up being the limiting factor on mods on the 25s, the EFI. Somebody needs to figure out a way to tune that system and get more out of it first things first. That way you open the door to being able to play with airflow and compression.

Replace subaru efi with ecotrons turbo ready efi.....it has a programmable ecu.

Makes you wonder what these blocks will handle as far as boost goes. A turbo small engine would have a ridiculous cool factor. Did po po mud duck ever hook his up all the way? I know it looked like he half ass mounted it idk if he ever finished though. Be hard to figure out where to put everything on a MM frame

just got to make sure you get the air fuel right or you'll easlily burn one up, 6K dollar motor ain't worth nothing if you get something wrong and burn it up.

Did po po ever finish the plumbing? Looks like the exhaust is hooked up but not the intake.....
