Post Re: Dfou 1844 build
Boat arrived without a scratch. I am very happy with the quality of the build and the appearance of the boat. Got my motor on and went for a ride. With two men, dog, and two coolers it ran 20 deep water, 22 shallow water. The deep water speed is 4.5 mph faster than the 1648 Lowe with same load. With 3 men, 2 dogs, 2 coolers boat planed out quick and ran 13.5 mph. The Lowe wouldn't ever plane that load, it would plow at 5 or 6mph. I noticed a huge difference with how quick the boat jumped on plane compared to the Lowe. I'm also very happy with the 12 inch light bar I bought from Turbodrive. That thing lights up the night! I got the sears turf to install, I'll post some pics when that job is done. Thanks again to Dfou for a job well done.

Not tippy at all if weight is properly distributed. With a 44 bottom it definitely reacts if someone moves from side to side. I live in Virginia.

If anybody wanted to know what the Sears stuff looks like here you go. I bought 3 rolls for the price of 1 HTurf sheet and have some left over.

I just cut it out, I bought a gallon of weld wood cement but directions say apply when warmer than 65. I will glue it when it warms up a little more. It is 1/4 in thick.

Just swapped motors, I have a PD36 EFI, 3 blade prop, and gen3 lower unit on the boat. Two man hunting load including blind and 80 lb dog the boat holds 26 deep water. 3 man it holds 25... very impressed with these speeds.
