A prodrives foward is it reverse no diffence to lower unit , a gator tail 's reverse is independent from forward gear , it won't get on step in reverse but no need to , every person hunts different terrans and each motor works good in different terrains so really depends what type of Terran you hunt

It def will pull its self of marsh , i ran a 27 pro drive ( first year they offered reverse) for 6 years just changed over to gator tail about 2-1/2 years I Iove it for me it's way better an goes more places than the old 27 did , but there e would no fun if we all had the same motors

It's not the motor that makes a Prodrive not dig in mud it the lower unit , plus I had it on a 15/48 not a big boat an the boat is all .100
