 Re: Vmax SHO...
Comparing a bass boat---any bass boat, not just Allison/Gambler/Bullet---that runs on a high-performance pad to a Blackjack is like comparing apples to. . .well, cinderblocks.
That Fury is a small prop; its diameter is smaller than a Tempest. Put it on a big heavy bay boat and the slip numbers are going to be much higher than on a bass boat hull; it's pushing a less hydrodynamic, heavier hull.
The Fury and the Tempest also like to be pretty much buried in the water so they can fly the bow on a bass boat. A Blackjack, and even my B@ckwater, aren't going to run as bow-up as a bass boat because the fuel tank isn't in the back of the boat.
The Bravo, or any 4-blade for that matter, can be run higher on the plate and run shallower; my Bravo runs best between 2-3" on the jackplate, and I can still holeshot with the prop jacked all the way up on the plate. That is worthless to bass guys but it's huge for me on the flats. Block off the top 2-3 holes on the water intakes, and you can run jacked 6" with a 4-blade, still turn on a dime, and not lose water pressure PSI. Yes, I go from 67 to 64mph by not running a 3-blade but I have a boat that does more than run in a straight line.
I don't mean to start an argument but I can tell you with 100% certainty that applying knowledge gained from bass boats to flats or bay boats won't pay off a majority of the time. They're different animals.

 Re: Vmax SHO...
I agree with everything u both have said. And I realize we r talking about bay boats here. I just wanted to say that even tho the diameter of the fury is a Lil smaller than the fury, have u ever compared the surface area of the blades? That is what's like comparing apples to cinderblocks. I ran a 26 tempest plus at 6100 rev limiter Went to a fury, turn a 25 at 5650 -5800 and gained 5 mph top end. I never seen a tempest out do a fury in any application.
With that said I do agree that taking bass knowledge and applying it to bay boat applications would probably get u no where.

Just asking because my dad runs an 0t4 on his boat, and it knocks hard when put in gear. I just figured it to b a cheap bushing

 Re: Vmax SHO...
Yes, it does! I have the quicksilver bushing. I think it's cause it has a lot of bite. I ran it back to back with my Yamaha prop And at idle the boat is much faster And when u throw it in reverse it has a lot more pull!
That was one plus about the Etec! No noise when u put it In and out of gear...

 Re: Vmax SHO...
Since you guys are talking props.....I need a new prop on my 22' Skeeter bay boat. I'm running an older 225 Yamaha OX66 with a SWS 14.xx X 21M. The boat runs about 52 at WOT, and i cruise at about 40. It's close to perfect at 5100 on the rpm range for this motor, which is about 5500 rpm's, but I'd like a little more speed at my crusing rpm of about 4400. I tried a SWS II with the same pitch, but it's to damn heavy and causes the lower to clank when you put it in gear. Also cavitates in the turns if I'm trimmed up, and blows out if I jack it up past 1.5 on the plate
Ya'll think any of the other props ya'll are talking about would help any?

 Re: Vmax SHO...
Oh, if you have the old original SWS Yamaha prop, this new one or the SWS2 might be a good fit for you. The Diff is more rake and larger diameter built into the SWS2 vs the old SWS....so, it should lift more and slip a lot less...
