We dont live with any such threat statistically. Shit will happen. Even with all the security to go through and the right to bear arms taken away, this still happened.....so do we extend that type of security to the nation? A system that has been proven numerous times to be a failure.(ex. Fort hood, sandy hook,navy yard.) The mass murders you hear about all happen in gun free zones.... also, the statistical #'s for mass murder is 4 or more people....these numbers include gang on gang violence and drug house robberies.... so statistically you are even less likely to be involved in a mass murder.... quit crying over something that will never effect you or any one you know. The media and politicians sensationalize gun violence to a point of mass hysteria and you need to realize that and quit being a sheep of the people who want to take away your rights....its the first step in controlling a population.

I have often said that the best way to protect air travel is to issue a billy club to every person getting on the plane. Have the video about the seat belt to also include taking down a threatening passenger. I think that passengers today realize that if the plane is taken over, they might as well think of themselves as dead and try to rush the perps to save the people on the ground.

Every public mass shooting of 3 or more people since 1950 has been in a gun free zone....... chew on that fat for a while. And yes these mass shootings have been going on since bows and arrows.......

Many have studied the effects of public assistance on crime and there is no correlation between the two other than that poor people want what others have and some will commit crimes to get it, but others will work hard to get it honestly. So your premise is wrong or as you are so fond of saying when someone has a different opinion, a lie. Poor people are poor more as a function of where they come from rather than laziness. Blacks come from only recently having been released from their shackles so what do you expect their children to be like?

The shackles I referred to were both real and a metaphor. A black was denied admission into an all white sorority at the University of Alabama only yesterday.

You are right about the pride thing, that is why the black families thrived even durning segregation. They craved education and gave great respect to those going for educations. That sentiment has changed. The government programs have hurt the black families and created a culture of dependency and sloth.

So we should pay more welfare benefits and do it more frequently, in order to reduce crime. This is much less expensive than trying to alter criminal activity through the penal system.

There are also quite a few studies that conclude there is an inverse relationship between welfare payments and crime. In other words, the greater the benefit the lower the crime statistics.

Dean im sorry but this is a terrible example. I mean it basically says because they get their FREE money in a lump sum only twice a month instead of staggered throughout the month, that is the reason they commit crimes. I mean come on that just sounds ridiculous

We are going to spend money on crime one way or another. I'd rather increase benefit amounts than continue to incarcerate criminals which costs way more than what any increase would cost us.

But they can't commit any crimes if they are incarcerated...what happens when the increased benefits aren't enough and they get bored again?
