I'm almost positive that Will has never run anything but a stock PD prop.

So rpms and a certain prop equal the same speed on all boats?

Re: My New (to me) Pro-Drive 18x48 Stick Steer
So let's say a boat ran 32.8 solid and touched 33.2 but was only turning 4180. What would it run when the carb is fixed and it turns 4800 like its meant to do

When you have the power to run that prop a little deeper, you will see faster than 32 mph at 4700 rpm.

No it wont. 4700rpm = 32 mph, no matter what boat you are in.

Re: My New (to me) Pro-Drive 18x48 Stick Steer
4700 rpm + 12" pitch prop + 1.5:1 gear ratio = 35.6 mph (this is assuming prop is completely submerged with zero slip.

It is a stock prop, I couldn't get the Hopkins to do like I wanted so I stayed with the stocker, not saying I didn't do anything to it myself, but it is stock...

Re: My New (to me) Pro-Drive 18x48 Stick Steer
i dont know if the PD boat had a stock prop or not... my guess it wasnt a stock prop
33-34 mph with a 12x15 two blade with heads and cam on the gen2 at 4600
31-32 with the same engine with a 12x15 3 blade with the gen3 at 4700.. still not enough prop

Re: My New (to me) Pro-Drive 18x48 Stick Steer
Well I was suppose to get my boat back this week with the efi, but Prodrive did a leak down test on my motor and they are now lapping my valves. Should get it back next week.

This is a very nice ride congrat. IMO this is the way to go if you go away from a tiller handle. They are more reactive than the steering wheel. I like it.

I agree. Can't beat a tiller for cuttin up and which is why I am going to keep my little boat. This big one is a 'family boat'! .
