 Re: Syria
If any of these videos on this link are correct and truth, I'm not sure we should be helping the rebels.
Could this whole going after Assad be a cover up or something to get rid of him before something comes out?

 Re: Syria
Interesting, here are the folks that voted against action in Iraq, but are looking to vote yes on Syria. I see one commonality with all of them.
My question - what exactly is our goal? Is this just a spanking from a world police force. "someone used gas, so we will punish your nation", or is there a set end state?
No on Iraq / Expected yes on Syria •Sen. Boxer (D-Calif.) •Sen. Cardin (D-Md.)* •Sen. Durbin (D-Ill.) •Sen. Leahy (D-Vt.) •Sen. Levin (D-Mich.) •Sen. Menéndez (D-N.J.)* •Sen. Stabenow (D-Mich.) •Rep. Becerra (D-Calif.) •Rep. Hastings (D-Fla.) •Rep. Langevin (D-R.I.) •Rep. Levin (D-Mich.) •Rep. Moran (D-Va.) •Rep. Pelosi (D-Calif.) •Rep. Rahall (D-W.Va.) •Rep. Sanchez (D-Calif.)

 Re: Syria
I stole this post from a Huffington Post article
"1998 Bill Clinton had a town hall meeting with Madeline Albright hosted by CNN discussing invading Iraq because of WMDs. Now fast forward 5 years and Bush is President and wants to invade Iraq because of WMDs. I clearly remember Hillary Clinton rallying the Democrats to support this decision. To this I say if the intel was so manufactured and so wrong why did Hillary Clinton vote for it and push the Democrats to support it??? I would say that is because the intel wasn't flawed and the intel was accurate and the same as her husbands intel when he was President so she supported the invasion of Iraq and got her Democrat Party members to support it also.
Also I clearly remember General George's Sada saying the Saddam removed the WMDs from Iraq on commercial airliners and flew them into Syria where Assad's brother accepted them. Now fast forward about 8 years to today and Assad's brother is being accused of using WMDs.
To me it seems like we are about to go to WAR with Syria over the same WMDs we went to WAR with Iraq. Of course this will never be admitted to because that would show Bush was right and of course the media won't allow that. "

 Re: Syria
Ranger...its interesting that you post this. I JUST had this very same conversation yesterday with a friends dad. He asked me what I thought was goung on because of my military experience and he knows I follow the pokitical sciences around the globe closely. I told him yesterday that iys no secret Syria has the largest stockpile of chemical weapons there. I also told him thats where youll find iraqs WMDs too.

 Re: Syria
Why go help Syria when 6 months ago they were yelling and parading about 'Death to America' and such... This is a war between 2 different types of Muslims - why would we side with either one.

 Re: Syria
Laws in war? Really?
Over 100K people killed since the civil war started and now 1400 were killed and we are supposed to "act?"
Great. Tell them your plans so they can put another 1400 civilians inside your announced target. What an idiot!
Dang! Did he just take credit for Putin's diplomacy?!?!?
He "asked" Congress to not vote on the use of force!?!? LOL!! They would have followed GB's path and said NO! That would have been serious egg on his face!
WOW! Some speech writers with heart strings to pull.
