 Boat question??
Does anybody see a problem occurring if i were to remove these two dividers out of my skiff

Probably not. I would cut them out and see if the sides flex. If the flex too much get a welder to slap some braces on it and roll with it!

Only problem I see is you won't be getting any more training for the 5 meter hurdles!
You have a lot of cross bracing above your longitudinals. Your gunnel rail looks pretty stout. It's a skiff. So, the sides are already "stressed"....if that's a good word to use??? Make your cuts like shown in the photo below. 3"-4" on bottom, leave an inch or so on top. Use what you already have to your advantage. If you want to step it up just a bit, lap a piece of 3/4" angle over the cut and stitch weld it.
