Re: Rebuilding the square gator tail trim tonight...
I just did it last weekend...
Clean all of the fluid out of the magnet sleeve. (Or Whatever you want to call it). I used brake cleaner. Hose the magnet down. Let everything dry. Replace the Orings on the magnet stem (the tiny ones) those are what prevent the hydraulic fluid from getting to the magnet and the reason these trims suck. Put it all back together (the correct way) and it should work.

Re: Rebuilding the square gator tail trim tonight...
I didn't even take any of that apart. Only the magnet sleeve... And it worked after that.
I can't help you there.

Re: Rebuilding the square gator tail trim tonight...
If I were guessing I would go with the 2 holes on either side of gears, right in the middle of gears. they have fluid passages and check balls check flow one way or other.

Re: Rebuilding the square gator tail trim tonight...
Check ball installed in the wrong ports. Didn't build pressure....so I opened it back up to see that rear shoulder on two the plungers was sheared off because check balls were in their spot. Going to order parts tom.
