Nice. Boy those Kawi runners don't help themselves out much huh? Is it as much of a 90 as it looks or do they have some slope to them?

Lookin' GOOT Banded Been getting the last few #s together today, I think these babies gonna be nasty we'll see soon. Cupped it's a pretty harsh transition no doubt but as well as they runnin stock it's gonna be a hell of a difference after some porting.

Re: Kawi FXT00V "Let the good times roll"
Honestly we don't have much in em by doin it like we are. Carb stuff around $350, exhaust gonna be bout $100-$125 and cam still a guess but maybe $300. The cams are a bit of a morphidite because the compression release is incorporated into em, but it looks like thats all figured out. Still too damn much but Yamaha ain't built a mudmotor yet, but when they do we all better buy stock...

Yikes, then a whole new wave of pissing matches shall be born. Mercury vs Yammy instead of GTRFTW. Looks like y'all are on the right track with these things! Cool to keep us updated like this.

Re: Kawi FXT00V "Let the good times roll"
Oh, the pissing match will happen. Look at how your results with just the stock kawa went ignored by so many. Wait until you start claiming the mods and effort are producing good results. Then you'll get called out on longevity by someone that's never had a briggs with similar mods last longer than 150-200 hours. Then the small few that'll claim the smoothness has nothing to do with the engine. And on, and on, and on......

Re: Kawi FXT00V "Let the good times roll"
You're right, however, we're not looking to make them much stronger than stock or to race anyone else, just opening them up and let them breath a little more. We'll know very soon how just a carb, headwork and exhaust will help improve them. The information has been gathered for other things but that's just for curiosity. Doing this in steps and taking notes on improvement as we move along.

Re: Kawi FXT00V "Let the good times roll"
Todd, lee ran the numbers a while back but I don't remember. Stock is 15 amps. Can be upgraded to 20 which is basically like the non cdi. That's the downfall. But I'll take less amps over case leak issues any day.

Re: Kawi FXT00V "Let the good times roll"
I'd have to put an amp probe on it, I can't seem to locate it in the paperwork...The briggs is 28volts at 3600rpm I think...(On the AC side) depends on the regulator after that.

Re: Kawi FXT00V "Let the good times roll"
Basically anything off idle and your getting 15A but there's two models of these and the other has a 20A system. I've run spot and marker plus Q-beam and some other stuff while idling for quite a bit and never even seen a difference when I've throttled up. I guess what I'm sayin is "no worries man" Couldn't get the damn video to load so bear wit the screen shots. Battery at 12.5v on startup.

Re: Kawi FXT00V "Let the good times roll"
This is looking better by the day....To bad i was late on the trigger.
One question for you guys. The kawi had some valve issues in the past same as briggs. Are you gonna roll with the stock valves or upgrade?
Makes me question the huge ass valve guides. Wonder if that was a bandaid? What yall think?

Re: Kawi FXT00V "Let the good times roll"
A plus is that they're not two piece. Lee's were seated fine after 40 hours on them. Time will tell, but no since in changing them without trying them. Next round will be with heads will only with P&P and decking, no spring shims or anything else for that matter...
The top of the valve guides that you see cut off have a larger I.D., appears to be useless, they do not touch the valve stem so they went bye bye.
