I am emotionaly and physically exhausted from the deer season. I have not made a single hunt for ducks since teal season. I almost went this morning but decided last minute to just go catch some sac-a-lairs. I'm half I did because they tasted good tonight. : ) I went ride by my blind. I saw about 10,000 coots and 6 ducks.

It's had it's good and bad spells, I've hunted all but about 5-6 days and been ready to call It quits a few times.
We killed a good many last week when it turned cold

We have done fairly well down here in Florida on the divers. Wish there were more teal around for a change of pace and better eats. We really do not get any of the big ducks except for specific pockets with limited access as a rule. Looking forward to the last two weekends and hopefully a few more days of playing hooky from work!

My season started off ok but 3rd week in we got a pretty serious freeze.

Pushed alot of ducks out and we didnt really get alot after. Spent most of the last part of season shooting goldeneyes and cans. We shot about half the birds we have the past 3 seasons.

I probably could have done better but most of my hunting trips were to places that were new to me. Sometimes that's the price you pay when you try and learn a new area. Nonetheless I still had a blast and cant wait to do it again in 2015.

Worst Ive ever had in central Fl thanks to FWC! They destroy the natural duck habitat and create habitat that we can't get into to hunt. Stuttgart was awesome

Its really sucked in my area. Opener was awesome after the first push. Ducks are just not here like last year. Out of state trips have been pretty good. I need to move. Only thing Ive mainly shot this year other then my out of state trips, have been ringers and woodies.....

sucked for me this year after opening weekend. shot just shy of a 5 man opening morning of teal season and ended teal season with a six man. then had 12 opening morning. other than that its be 2-4 ducks for a lot of work. hadn't had to terribly much time to scout either though

I've enjoyed a pretty consistent season on the Texas Coast up to about 2 weeks back. Got a little slow as of recent.
My bag this year has been about 50-60% grey ducks, which is pretty damn nice for these parts.

My brewers duck pretty much made my season.

Headed to North Texas / Southern Oklahoma this weekend to give em hell.

Between these fronts its slow at home, but with that being said when we do get a really cold push we're killing quality birds. I know of at least 20 golden eyes being killed this year in our bay system where as its normaly 1 or 2 maybe, and mallards...we are in a big ole no fly zone for mallards here and when we do finally get one its up in a timber hole somewhere. But no this year we're killing em out in the middle of BFE in the bay where they should not be, and we're killing several at a time at that. Even killed a big ole fat timber mallard further down on the coast with a bunch or redheads where they are almost non existant. Even heared of a few sea ducks? Idk its just been a really strange year..

SW Arkansas was great for the first 3 days then phooey. Been tough and sometimes not taken the safety off all morning. Even when conditions were perfect, there were no ducks flying. Granted there were plenty at times all rafted up in the middle of the lake but you couldn't hunt them. Out total for the year so far is 228 and a squirrel. Normal averages are 350-400. Guess I shouldn't call it a bad season. I know folks who have done much worse.

Haven't had the best set up due to hunting new places often and trying to stay away from everyone else and their brother hunting. Met a lot of nice people that have shown me the ins and outs of a new area. All in all its been a good season because I was able to get away from it all and shoot some ducks in the face. Also still have my guns and my dog and my boat and all 4 limbs so you can't beat that! Just down some decoys and lights

So-so. Some really good days and some really bad days, lots of decent days though. Here lately it has been nothing but spoonies. Which I don't mind shooting at all. Mallards aren't common here, but we usually shoot some during the season. So far just one. By and large we have shot teal, grays and spoonies. The grays have all but disappeared. I haven't seen any teal in a while either.

Well this was my first year duck hunting, I hunted almost every weekend here in East Texas and got a total of 17 birds. I did miss a lot but I am
starting to get the hang of it was a great season for me , I did happen to get a banded green top that was the highlight of my season I know some guys who have hunted 10 years and have never got one I feel really lucky to have gotten that

Frog... I had a slow season as well. I did notice alot more ducks on Lake O yesterday than I have seen all season. I was just set up in the mud for teal that did not show. If I would have set a float cage in the pads I probably would have slayed the ringers. It might be pretty good for youth weekend, but I am not putting the kids out in float rigs. Hopefully a week off will allow the birds time to relax and more apt to fly near a cattail or reed clump.

We shot a fair number of teal this year in Florida. Friday we found a load of them but by Saturday they were gone. Too many air boats blowing them out every 30 minutes so they decided not to hang around. Just about every lake gets too much boat traffic for the ducks to have a chance to relax and do their natural things. It was still a good season for us and I am sorry to see it go.

ibfishing, I put everything away and im gearing up for fishing. Not doing the youth hunt this year. Already discouraged my 10 year old. Don't want to do the same to the younger one though it would be harder to discourage him. They want to fish , I can live with that. Let me know how you do. Stu, Its crazy there are no teal. First time I've ever seen that in over 20 years of duck hunting. Buddy of mine say he's usually slaying snipe by now on his lease and none have showed up. weird year...I don't like it!

Arkansas was awesome! It about ruined me. Great shoot, great guys and I'll probably do it again but shooting in a rice fields isn't the same as hunting the swamp. I still like finding them in the swamp better. But it certainly didn't suck. I we did a couple hunts were we had to scratch it out all day to get a limit and I wouldn't mind doing some more of that.

By far, the best season I've had, ever. Killed a mess of birds, took new guys out, only got stuck once all season.

Banner year.
