Boss H drive 3700 EFI on excel 1751
This is the new 37 HP EFI Briggs on a Boss Drive. Empty I'm getting 30 and with three people 26. There are videos now on youtube of it running and showing some of the features. More videos will come soon.

He doesn't let the fuel system pressure up, turn key to "on" wait couple seconds for fuel pressure then crank. Here is a GTR with PD EFI air temp outside was -7 when I made this - primer bulb was froze to stiff to pump http://youtu.be/Z9mQAME7wHo

Not trying to start a EFI vs Mikuni war. If you put an Electric fuel pump on a properly tuned Mikuni and turn the key to on and wait a couple of seconds it will start just as easy in extremely cold conditions. J/S

Re: Boss H drive 3700 EFI on excel 1751
anything would work better than the stock carb - I hope.
I put the videos up to compare the "drive train" noises of each motor. I thought the H has some (a lot) weird gear noise,,,

The H series must be 3-4 mph faster than the V series from what I have seen.

Re: Boss H drive 3700 EFI on excel 1751
Does it really matter if your engine takes 3 seconds or 30 seconds to start? I have been in this site for years now and have never heard of anyone say " I couldn't hunt this morning b/c it was too cold to start my motor."
I understand it doesn't get really cold where I'm at. I pull the choke out on days where I think I need it. After all isn't that what the SOB is for:lol:.
With that being said I will have an efi engine one day.
Note this mainly for the guys in the south that justify the efi bc of the cold starting abilities. You crazy northerners that hunt icebergs may need efi. He'll I don't know nuffing!!

Re: Boss H drive 3700 EFI on excel 1751
OK - so I was showing off on the cold start with EFI.
But nobody in the room has addresed the "white elephant" what the hell is that rapping noise the H is making? It sure isn't the engine.
Jez it sounds like MC White Bread on crack and does it get any bettter as the drive line works in?

Re: Boss H drive 3700 EFI on excel 1751
Baron it wasn't meant towards you buddy. Obviously you need it more than us southern folk. It was for the southern boys that say efi is the bomb cause it starts better and you don't have to use the choke when cold out.

Re: Boss H drive 3700 EFI on excel 1751
looks like the "clutch dogs" like in the LU of an outboard only on the drive shaft along with main gear cluster, you can see shift fork and collar (yellow) and drive gears.
but clutch dogs are not really a clutch more of a synchronizer for the directional gears – forward or rewind
