Re: ProDrive 2-Blade Gen 3 Prop
I will say this about my gen 3 it has a lot more low end. With a fuel 13 gallon tank and 5 Ppl in the boat (850-900 lbs) I can get on step and run about 16. I don't think that's bad. Also from a dead stop in thick Lillys I will leave my brother and his gen 2. Best case is that the new prop ads a couple mph and I can change props a cording to load

Re: ProDrive 2-Blade Gen 3 Prop
I've been dead stop in an inch of water in my rig with a 4 man bow fishing load, 50 qt yeti loaded down, 120qt ice chest with fish and ice, 14 gals of fuel, bow fish rails, and 3 big batteries, and been able to get out with out outs problem (of course have to have softer mud than firm Sandy mud, not gunna lie and say that I can do that in freaking sand) lol

Re: ProDrive 2-Blade Gen 3 Prop
Sounds like I shouldve saved the 400 bucks and got the gen 2 lower instead.

Re: ProDrive 2-Blade Gen 3 Prop
My personal opinion is that prodrive went so long without anything new a the computing caught up so they rushed out the Gen 3 and wasn't rdy yet. I will say this to anyone thinkin about buying one if u go into thinking torque and not speed u won't be disappointed. Also seriously think about auto reverse. That's the best 1000 I've spent on a mud motor ever

Re: ProDrive 2-Blade Gen 3 Prop
Can someone explain to me the pros and cons of the different pitches. Is a certain pitch better in the mud and another pitch better for speed in open water. Just need to be educated on it

Do you know if it was 3/16 or 1/8 bottom? Just trying to get as much info as possible.

Re: ProDrive 2-Blade Gen 3 Prop
Can someone explain to me what is the advantage of the tapered shaft vs the straight shaft on the Gen 3 lowers? When I called to order a new prop they needed the serial # to determine which shaft I had.

Re: ProDrive 2-Blade Gen 3 Prop
The tapered shaft has a larger diameter than the straight shaft. I want to say that the tapered shafts were released right after thanksgiving last year.

Re: ProDrive 2-Blade Gen 3 Prop
Gotcha. Mine's 1948 3/16 bottom and full 1/8 floor, so probably still a little heavier, but fairly comparable. I just wonder what the Briggs EFI would do with a prop like that...

Re: ProDrive 2-Blade Gen 3 Prop
When I order my .125 1854 with a 37 EFI PD I am hoping it runs about 25 MPH with 2 people. That is about all I need out of it to do what I do.

Re: ProDrive 2-Blade Gen 3 Prop
It may have been more like 4400-4500 with me and the ole lady, but I can't remember exactly. Either way, I needs a prop with some more ass! If I trim it a little higher, it'll hit the rev limiter and lose speed...
