Any house painters out there?

I'm looking at buying a house. Great land and location but it's bright yellow and no garage space. The local ordinances specify an outbuilding exterior has to match the home.

How well does painting steel siding work and any recommended products??

Works great, Sherwin-Williams has many exterior metal paints ranging in price and warranty. Most equipment rental places will rent an airless sprayer for less than $50 a day if you wanna tackle the job yourself. Like any finishing work, prep work is important. Pressure wash and tape off windows and doors.

Shit it'll be two months before you do any exterior paint mngunner! Well be lucky if the snow melts by May! But yes the poster is correct with the Sherwin Williams paint top notch and lots of colors to choose from.

You only need to pressure wash and not sand?

Do you guys recommend Acrylic Latex?

I've done about 30 buildings, but I'm in Texas. With the different weather I'd ask Sherwin-Williams what base to use, they'll have a variety.

Sherwin Williams for sure. They have exactly what you need and the application specs for good performance. You do not need to sand it first. Can you imagine having to sand down a couple hundred thousand square foot warehouse before repainting? Clean it well and paint. Follow application instructions and you will be good to go.

If you're putting up the building you can probably match the house to one of the building choices. Then you'd only have to paint the house and the aftermarket paint on the building will not last like the factory.
