 Salt Grass Duck Blinds
I want to build some duck blinds in salt grass that's about 3 feet tall that are big enough to be able to hide my boat, and hunt from the boat. Has anyone made frames from 2x4s and hog wire and woven the salt grass "brooms" into it? Ive seen it where people make the brooms of grass with electrical tape and weave them in to the wire.If anyone has done this big enough for a boat, pics and how you like it would be appreciated. Thanks

 Re: Salt Grass Duck Blinds
I built one similar to what your talking about but brushed it with cypress moss. The only thing I didn't like about it was it was to wide open on the top, a roof or a pit blind style cover would have been ideal. No pic of the frame but here was the final product. I just used 6 garden post to drive into the ground and a 16' 2x4 as the rails on the front and back and wraped it in livestock pin wire type stuff.. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1431997039.883393.jpg

 Re: Salt Grass Duck Blinds
That looks really good. Thanks a lot. I think I will try to make mine like that, with some flaps that I can flip over the top for overhead cover like you were talking about. Gonna start building them early this year so they will be really blended in.

We used to make our blinds that way but we used tie wraps to make the bundles then fastened them to the chicken wire. These weren't boat blinds though.

 Re: Salt Grass Duck Blinds
I thought about making some blinds like you are describing, but I really want the convenience of hunting from the boat. I think the idea would work for a larger boat blind too.
