Lt like long skinny boats, the difference from a normal Jon and a true mud boat is night and day. I would recommend a different hull. And 18 or 19 long by 48 wide

Re: swomp 35 on grizzly 1754
Definitely get the 48" or 44"wide bottom hull in a 17-20' length...I don't need the tank hull, .100 would be enough (like the Grizzly), but a true flat bottom hull would be optimum. The 1754 would work but a narrower hull would perform better. There was someone on here who has a 1754 gatortrax with the MB SLT 35 and is happy with that combo. I could get by with a lighter riveted hull, the use to make an 1848 like that (seaark, lowe, and others) with a short transom. Are you getting the 35 EFI?

Re: swomp 35 on grizzly 1754
im definately going to look into the efi and compare prices. the best deal ive found on a boat so far was backwoods landing in alabama. i was considering going with a 1652 from them but after hearing everyones advice i may talk to them about a 1748.
