Post Beavertail 35hp surface drive prop help
Recently bought a 1754 Beavertail boat with 35hp Beavertail surface drive. The boat runs ok (24mph) but has terrible holeshot and seems like it cavitates alot. It does have factory pods and I feel like they may be directing too much water away from the prop. It likes running the prop deep and barely shoots any rooster tail. Any advice on prop selection? I also use it for bowfishing so the problem is multiplied when theres a heavy load (i undestand a mud motor isnt going to work well for this application but i think a better prop would help).

If you do a bit of searching you'll find that PODS and SD's are a generally considered to be a bad combination. Your correct about them diverting water from the prop.

Have a 3rd pod put between the 2 you have and mount your motor on it. Then you got a redneck hunt deck
