 Re: Blinds on WMA
That's crazy. Six hours before light. If I had to claim my spot six hours before daylight I'd just let you have it. Lol ain't worth it to me. I already have to drive 2 hours to the marsh, that's an early rise as it is

 Re: Blinds on WMA
By this time tomorrow every temp/permanent blind in the North Flats north of school boad property will have been run over by corps of engineers airboat and destroyed so hopefully that will solve the problem, I'm told.

 Re: Blinds on WMA
You can build a temp blind but cannot leave it. Technically, building a temp blind before the seaason is not permitted on Indian Bayou WMA becuase you have to leave it, but the corps of engineers has very few resources to police this and rarely do. La Wildllife and fisheries wiil enforce hunter harrasment violations, etc, but its the corps of engineers resposibiltiy to enforce their temp blind regulations. They should have done this the day before teal season opended by running over the temp blinds. They are late doing this now, but maybe it'll put everybody on notice that we all have to use boat blinds instead.

Maybe it was the Corp that demolished your two blinds. It could be a conspiracy.

 Re: Blinds on WMA
2.5 hours before day light is insane much less 6. during big duck i get to my perfered hole 50 mins before shoot time which give me 30 mins to set decoys and such, 20 mins to modify brush and load gun ready to shoot. now if ole lady comes hunt i like to get to hole about hour 15 before shoot time for extra activities....

 Re: Blinds on WMA
Just got a report from Corps of Engineers. They went out there yesterday and destroyed some of the more permanent blinds but could not deal with all of them as they were short handed. They left the flimsy ones there. The agent emphasided to me that the rule is first to arrive has the spot and if anyone attempts to claim a spot as theirs, even though they built it, that this would be hunter harrasment. They said they will have undercover agents in some of the blinds to enforce this So if you get flashed, move on. I don't care who built the brush blind because you're too late you will not hunt it.

 Re: Blinds on WMA
I just got a report from the White House. Obama is canceling duck season because Dean isn't working and playing well with fellow hunters. I'm not sure if that will help Dean's approval level but it will certainly solve the problem.

Douche bag Jr. stated 2 times that opening weekend it ok to have a blind to hold a spot, but he actually got in somebody's blind.

 Re: Blinds on WMA
Maybe I missed it.. But there's not supposed to be any permanent blinds on wmas.. So this shouldn't even be a topic huh? I've found blinds on some refuges and don't think it's fair at all. So they get taken care of

 Re: Blinds on WMA
I think they refer to permanent blinds as one built out of materials unnatural to area. Hell if you build one entirely out of tree branches and tied together with vines you should be legal. Maybe I'm wrong on that though. I just thought couldn't bring in 2x4s and stuff.

I build cane blinds in gar holes so people don't hunt where the birds are.

 Re: Blinds on WMA
I would never hunt someone else's blind on opening weekends on a WMA. Legal or not, in my opinion that is just a douche move. Someone put a lot of time and effort to build that blind and you have to assume they plan to hunt opening weekend. After opening weekend, if someone is not in the blind at a reasonable time before shooting hours, then I say hunt it.
