I've wondered this a lot. Never found anything. You'd probly have to modify the belt housing to fit the clutch otherwise I don't see why it wouldn't work. I think somebody said something about finding out the right size clutch but that wouldn't be too hard. Not like these other company's are making their own. Just a Japanese part you can buy online somewhere.

Why in God's name would you want to do that? Neutral is called pushing the handle down.

I wouldn't waste time, effort, or money on that. Just buy one of the other brands.

Re: any one put eclectic clutch for neutral in gdsd
I think it would be great bc I like their frame design and I really like how it trims itself. I hate godevil "neutral"...always gotta be cautions of where that spinning prop is. They bump into things differently when they're turning....

Re: any one put eclectic clutch for neutral in gdsd
Tweak those trim tabs on the skeg. I had the same problem, it was worse turning to the right for some reason. I bent the left tab ever so slightly more than the right and it stays planted in the turns, no more issue. Might have to experiment with it a bit to get it to your liking. I also added a weed cutter to mine. I run a lot of heavy vegetation. Now there's no need to pick the prop up and blow it free of debris, it keeps it cut down. I still make sure the gap between the rear prop nut and seal housing are free of wrapped grass and junk every time it comes out of the water. I also give the shaft a shot of WD40 when I spray the muffler. The shaft is mild steel and will corrode/rust and cause the seal to deteriorate at a faster rate. Keep it clean and lubed and rust free and your seal and bushing should live longer.

FYI - Coco designed a clutch that fit in the housing - but did not like giving up the reliability of the direct drive so it is not for sale as an option....

The other manufacturers use clutches with a decent reliability. Kinda crazy he doesn't do it. It's an off the shelf item.

Re: any one put eclectic clutch for neutral in gdsd
With the hours all but the not very common lemon provide, these clutches are quite reliable. The safety and convenience they provide outweigh the potential failure point for many people. I would think it ought to be an option, but it's his motor. He's more than welcome to build it how he wants. I choose to not buy go devil because of that lack of clutch, balanced drive or not. Trim isn't as big a deal to me. Some buy them because they don't have a clutch. Either way, I'm happy with having a clutch, as they're happy without it. It's like the reverse argument. I think a clutch has more functional use than reverse, but there are those that will disagree. It's why there are different designs.

Most of my friends with cluthes carry an extra clutch and switch with them. Coco would make us carry 3 of each.

Really? I have a set of duals with 400 hrs on them and still on the original clutches. What are they doing that they need to carry a spare?

GDSD is like a run flat tire.... Made to just work.... Some of us appreciate that kind of design.... Over 25,000 of us in fact.....

I think it's amazing just doesn't fit the godevil "keep it simple" narrative. I can say the Briggs vs subaru is world's apart.

Re: any one put eclectic clutch for neutral in gdsd
My EFI GoDevil has been great with one minor hiccup (Briggs issue) at 30hrs that was corrected promptly. I've been on the water for an additional 25 trouble free hours since then. I agree that it will be pushed on us eventually, and I have no issue with EFI or its reliability in general. When I bought mine I figured it was a no-brainer. Still have zero regret, and have never found myself wanting a carb in the least. It's cranked and ran the exact same in 110deg heat down into the 40's (so far). Overall I'm impressed with it, and I applaud Coco for adding the 37 to his lineup and not fighting change. He knows it's coming just like the rest of us.
