Post Carb vs. efi up grades ?
Just wondering over all power a 35 carb engine vs. a 37 efi engine with both the same mods. As in head cam and natural efi with a turner and a bigger carb on the 35 would they be about the same in over all power.

First off, have to agree, this has been beaten to death. The search feature is your best friend. Second, you don't want to put a bigger carb. The HSR42 is about as big as I would go, now there are smaller carbs that have the fuel pump. Velocity is your best friend and a bigger carb has slower velocity.

Now for the price, If your willing to pony up lots of cash for the efi, tuner and such, that's your decision. But a tuned engine with a mikuni will run in any condition. 18*, idles like when its 70*. Also, I still haven't found a stage 2 EFI PD that will run with my stage 2 carb yet. They may be out there, but haven't found it yet. GTR, MB and GD have the ability to adjust pulley ratios for more top end, so when comparing EFI vs Carb, I would compare apples to apples. JMO though.

If we used the search feature, nobody would ever post anything and this place would be boring. We done talked about it all. Fuck the search feature, ask away.

Efi all day every day. Stock or modded. Those that say that they can stab the throttle twice hit the key ang go are full of bull. efi will be at the hole and carb still in the lane.

I won't even begin to argue a carb is better than efi, but we've really never had any issues starting with the mikuni. Stock carb, yes, but the mikuni fires right up for us. Sure it takes a little more finesse to get it warmed up(only when it's real cold out), but usually just throttle up a lil while we get unloaded and get the truck parked. It's ready to go by the time we are.

Yep, stage 2 Kawi, never warm mine up when backing down. launch boat, get in start up without pumping throttle, idles at 1125, haul ass to camp. I too have never had an issue and can't justify the additional $1200 for the kit.
