Yeah, I got on the mud buddy forum and was told to specifically talk to an specific individual and his PM reply was very clear that he wasn't going to share any information that he has figured out.

Is balancing an industry secret or something? Did he at least tell you somewhere to send it to get it done, or is he just keeping the secret because he doesn't want to help anyone get their engine balanced?

Deadbird you are correct, although my shop is good to go with the actual weights as far as rotating and reciprocating, they are just wanting to know if it is the standard 50% plugged into the calculation or a higher or lower number as that has also to do with the degree of the V-twin itself, which I am told is 82 degrees instead of the standard 90 degrees. That is all we are looking for.

The guy in Michigan described how he spent a lot of time and money figuring out his custom bobweights, then proceeded to tell me that I shouldn't have my stuff at my current shop if they can't figure that out, because it is simple machinist stuff. and the dude is a machinist, and then PMs me and offers his service where all balancing is done third party. Not really wanting to ship it at all really.

I also just received the formula specifically designed for V-twin motors to balance from a guy that used to build and race lawn mowers. No to figure the correct v-twin angle and I will be set!

no I just got confirmation and the balancing formula from a guy that is a lead engineering machinist for GM, and used to build 11000 rpm lawn mower racing motors. He is explain it all to me and explained that the big block briggs are 90* motors. So you were good MaXXis85!

make sure and give an update after you get it all together. Balancing is something ive always wondered about with these motors.

Will do, gonna stop by the shop that has my parts here in a bit and give him the spreadsheet to figure the bob weights and may have the parts tomorrow.

On another note, Deadbird8 has explained his extremely positive experience with getting his internals balanced.

I will push out info once I have mine back together and know it was a success, otherwise I'm not going to recommend

Finally got my motor put back together last week and ran it some on Saturday, didn't push her real hard and idled a lot through flooded timber. But when we did bounce up and roll there was less vibration through the tiller, and what was there is mostly due to the prop as I need to get a new one and get this old GT prop worked!
