 Best motor oil? Thinking about swapping to another oil.. Have only ran Briggs and Stratton sae 30. Heard some people running royal purple, rotella t. But what's the best? Got a stage 2 motor.

Extra virgin olive oil too.
I even use a mixture of gas and water.
Works perfect.

Re: Best motor oil? I bought a Honda outboard from an old man once and checked the oil and it was clear as glass. Idk what it was. Someone told me it was castor oil.

Re: Best motor oil? Wichever oil you run i recomend letting it warm up at around 2000 rpm for a minute before you let it idle. Gives the oil a chance to thin out a bit and splash onto all the parts it needs to protect.

Re: Best motor oil? Something with high zinc (like Rotella or amsoil high zinc) if you have modded internals.

But 3n1 is still hard to beat

Re: Best motor oil? Just curious but what criteria are you guys basing your favorite oil off of? Condition of inside of engine after 500 hours? Tests y'all have read about? I always figured there couldn't be too much difference between the name brand oils, especially for our little motors

Re: Best motor oil? Just take the grease out of your fryer and throw in there. You really don't have to filter it if you don't want to.

Re: Best motor oil? I just went with what the performance shop recommended. My NAPA carries the high zinc Amsoil.
