We had 70+ boats at the Seminole run this past July. Just curious about the size of some of the other rides across the country.

SETX ride has a ton of boats and is one of the longest running.

Biggest , setx mud run , for the pure mud and after party's , around here , with caddo a close second as my personal favorite. Caddo is so nice , our group stays longer and longer each year . Both good rides I'd suggest to come to at least once.

This year was my first for Caddo but I'm planning on going and staying a full week next year and getting in on more fishing and general hood rat stuff.... You know, since my friends will be there

Some of us are going to make the SETX run one year.

Mack it's a great weekend ride. Everyone stays locally , book early at the la Quinta as soon as dates are announced and you'll be ground zero. Friday night dinner in town Cajun band and full seafood buffet . After party in the parking lot. Sat is official ride. Moon pond and gsu pond , both fun both can be treacherous to the unwary. Plenty of rigs and airboats to get you unstuck quick if you do succomb to the quagmire. Lunch rafted up on the water , could be burgers or crawfish étouffée depending on who your parked next to. Ride till dark , load your boat up , clean up and come to the main party . I feed y'all jambalaya. . Then it's a Moonshine contest , check every bodies rigs out . Maybe steal dean guidrys prop nut , who knows what goes on . Then raffle and door prizes. All secure , local cops watch our rigs from Friday to Sunday at hotels and main launch. It's a good time . Mack , Caddo , how can I describe caddo lake , magical , rejuvenating , refreshing , there's places out there where time stands still , you can step back an experience nature at it's finest. The fishing is top notch. The scenery Gods own handiwork, trails on trails thru some of the prettiest cypress trees around . We started just coming for the weekend of the ride. Now we stay most of a week . You get there and don't want to leave. The ride is officially on Saturday , shotgun start at crips then trails and routes till lunch then cross over to onion island on the la side after lunch. We bring our wives and children to caddo and they love it. Same thing watch the dates and book early.

As far as turnout, there probably isn't a bigger one than Sparkleberry Swamp Duck Run. There were 700+ boats last year. Granted they weren't all mud motors but there were easily 200ish MMs out there.

I can't even begin to imagine the ridiculousness of 700 boats in one general area

Next year we oughta get a group from Georgia/Alabama/fla to come to setx or caddo, and y'all over there bring a group over for the Seminole run in return.

That was according to DNR and they kept a watch on boat traffic all day so I assume it was fairly accurate. And as TPerkins said, ridiculousness is about all you can call it.

The run is still a fundraiser for the Flyway Foundation but the majority of people there are just there for the partying. Once the smoke clears, I'd say there's around 250 boats that participate in the actual run itself.

SETX and Caddo are good times for sure...from what I remember lol

Caddo will be 2nd or 3rd weekend of june.

I'm seriously considering caddo this coming year If I can get a few others on board for the trip.

You won't regret it. Family friendly. Good folks, good food, and good times.

It's a ride for a good cause too. All funds raised from meals, shirts, and raffle are donated back to the lake.

I love going to Caddo. It's a fine place to ride and socialize.

Be prepared. One trip to caddo snowballs into an every year thing.

Made that trip to Texas once with a trailer full of Labs and once with a stock trailer and roping horses. It is a long haul from South Florida.

Ahh sparkleberry is ok but there is plenty of water so ob make the run if like to make a run deeper in the swamp away from the main runs

Caddo is one fine place with a lot of fine folks. I'm ready for another Caddo trip .
I'm ready for Dead Animal to ramrod another Fausse ride too.

There is a big one in Arkansas on november 19th. Dont come. Its at 4 am. Everybody is cranky and ready to fight. You ride for about 15-20 minutes and then you sit in the dark for about 2 hours and cuss every light you see cause you think its coming your direction. About an hour before daylight some jackass that set up 100 yards from you starts blowing his duck calls for no damn reason. Then about 20 minutes before legal shooting hours somebody in the woods gets the bright idea to shoot a wood duck and that gets everybody started. After all that fuckery there is some good shooting for about an hour and a half and then like somebody flipped a switch they just disappear. It would be quiet and peaceful in the woods and something to enjoy if it wasnt for the 15 people that came in and joined the guy blowing his calls early. They seem to be having a blast over there blowing the shit out of their new $300 dollar cut down that sounds like ass and that goose flute that everybody seems to have but nobody can blow. Then its another few minutes of good shooting followed by everybody and their grandma packing up, getting stuck on a cypress knee and instead of getting out and giving the boat a good shove they decide to bounce their brand new mudbuddy off the rev limiter a few times, just in case every bird in the whole block of woods didnt hear you idling around in the decoys for 20 minutes, and then its a race back to the ramp where nobody knows how to back in a trailer. We end the day with tailgate pictures of the days kill and your buddies dog that didnt pick up any of the birds in the picture because you were too busy screaming "sit" at him and blowing that damn wistle he obviously hasnt ever heard before. Believe it or not some people actually look forward to this shit. Aint we crazy??

I've been to the run in S.C, it's a good time. mudmotor isn't necessary, but there are plenty. good people too.

caddo is a fun ride as well, made 2 or 3 runs over there. really bueatifull lake.

when we had Muddi Gras in Fausse Point it was a blast. the one in '06 will be hard to beat, we had people from over 30 different states, over 200 boats played a poker hand, all the major mudmotor companies were there in person. [ Brian, Kyle, *****, and Joey (GD)] plus Mud Unit and Machete boats. several airboats were there to pull people out, and we had real low water that year with endless mud. we fed over 700 people and ran out of food. lol
I think '08 was the last one, it just got too big to handle. lol we donated several thousand dollars to local charaties and St. Jude's childrens hospital. TonyB helped out quite a bit, and so did several of the older members on this site. good people!!!

the setx run sounds like a good time, I will maybe try to make the next one.
