GD and grease
Hi, I replaced my drive shaft and all seals before season and this thing has not used ANY grease...which is GREAT! I've put about 30 hrs on it and was wondering if I should replace the grease (at least most of it by taking of the grease spring thingy). It's pretty dark (was blue when I put it in) Thx LT

Re: GD and grease
Bayport, happy New Year! Just saw this...what brand grease are you using? Some years ago I was using Aqua-lube, good stuff, can't find it anymore, switched to Mobil 1 synthetic. My BW uses a lot less grease than both my old GD's and my last motor, a Mudbuddy, but based on your experience, GD has improved their seals. I used to carry a loaded grease gun with me with both my first GD 18, then the 25 GD!

Re: GD and grease
One cannot go wrong with Lucas products...well tested. Also I think that all seals are relevant, however I have noted that in my annual six month maintance work, that my seals are holding up quite well too since they were replaced on my GDSD.
Do not think COCO is buying any thing special, just that the seals do not break down as quickly in light to condition that you utilize your GDSD may be a more decive factor....IMHO.
