We have 2 small jon boats and some pirogues that we use to paddle around in the swamp. Doen't take long to get to an area, but were considering putting big trolling motors on them to get us around. Has anyone made a short long tail version or small lite weight version of surface drive using a 3-5 hp engine? I have a brand new 5hp predator engine that we use as a trash pump. Don't want mods, just simply engine power to put around.

Your best bet is prolly the tai long tail kits and weld your own cav plate, i'm not the kit motor expert but an engine that small will perform best on a long tail frame.
