 Diesel surface drive
So I know it's been done. And the results weren't that great. But for what I'm wanting to do, I think it will suit my needs. What I have is a d600 Kubota. It's rated at 14hp@3200rpm. Currently working on it, bigger Injectors, added turbo, pump and head work. We think it will break 40hp @4krpm pretty easy
Anyways this is basically going to be a duck hunting motor on a rather large hull. Used to carry 8-10 people around a half mile or so a day for most of duck season. Maybe playing here and there throughout the year. But I have a outboard boat for most of the summer and fishing season anyway. Honestly I don't expect it to do much, not really looking for it to plain a huge load off. But I hope it carrys 3-4 guys decent.
I'm looking at getting a 2048-52 custom hull built also
One thing I'm really wanting is reverse. So I'm contemplating finding a used gtr frame with everything needed and just adapt it to fit my motor. Using the reverse and clutch gtr already had. I'll be taking some pictures and videos as I go. Just curious to see what guys have to say. I already have the motor( it has some sentimental value) I always wanted to do something with it so this is what I plan on using it for.

 Re: Diesel surface drive
you will need to make a 4"x1-1/8" crank/pto extension to adapt to a mudmotor clutch/ planetary

 Re: Diesel surface drive
I have an inboard mudboat(oldschool)with a Kubota D1105 28hp engine.I have a td-025 turbo for it aswell.
I ran across a guy on YouTube with a D1105 running 50lbs of boost on a stock block. Custom injectors Machined govornor fly weights for 5000 rpm. Strong lil engines.
A turbo would require you to adjust the fuel screw and you would probly gain 10hp just from that alone. Advancing the fuel timing takes someone who knows what they are doing being the timing marks on the gears only line back up every 148 revolutions. Another trick to advance or retard fuel timing is shims under the fuel injector pump.
