Plenty of other countries where they just phased all of their citizens to actually get the virus to prevent the hospitals from being overwhelmed. They don't allow guns and they're all already immune. Oh, wait, they still have mass shootings and bombings and murders. But hey, at least they have the same beliefs as dean.

Now that the NRA has been proven to be nothing more than a money maker for a few greedy individuals, maybe we can make some progress on gun sales reform. I’m not opposed to much more comprehensive evaluations of prospective buyers and prohibition of assault weapons and any weapon with more than 5 shell capacity. Interruptible magazine exchanges should be installed to prohibit quick exchanges.

Interesting statistic I learned yesterday. 2/3rds of weapons used in murders in the US were purchased is states with less restrictive gun laws and used in states with more restrictive gun laws. Let that sink in.

Maybe you should start by getting rid of your guns. Lead by example.

Giga, if we could retrofit all existing guns with thumbprint locks so that only those authorized could use them, would you be opposed to that? I am asking because I believe it will be the technology that solves some of the problems.

People, they will do it with a gun or a home made bomb or anything else. Restricting law
Abiding citizens from guns does not prevent violence. Democrats want gun control because they
Want control. In the years I was In law enforcement, 9 out of 10 guns used in crimes were stolen
Or illegally acquired firearms. I never worked an attempted murder or murder where the suspect was a good
Parent with firearms that they legally purchased. Gun restrictions only affect those who follow the law

Even if Officer Derek Chauvin is convicted Maxine Watters just invalidated any conviction
by the un-sequestered jury with her not so veiled threats against them ! ! !

The Judge in the trial said so in no uncertain terms - called her comments
"Disrespectful to the rule of Law" ! ! !

Washington (CNN)Rep. Maxine Waters on Saturday night called for protesters to "stay on the street" and "get more confrontational" if former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin is acquitted in the killing of George Floyd.

The comments by Waters, a California Democrat and icon among progressives, were immediately seized on by Republicans who claimed that Waters was inciting violence. The congresswoman denied in a subsequent interview that she was encouraging violence, but the remarks come at a time of immense national tension amid several high-profile killings of Black people at the hands of police officers and as American cities brace for a fresh wave of protests as the Chauvin trial nears a close.
Waters said she was in Brooklyn Center, Minnesota, on Saturday night to show her support for protesters amid ongoing protests over the police killing of Daunte Wright and to also support his family.
"We've got to stay in the street and demand justice," Waters said to reporters, according to video posted on social media.

Barack Obama is no longer president, so I guess there's no reason to expect him to be "presidential," but how about thoughtful?

Obama logged on Twitter Tuesday to dump kerosene on the multiple racial bonfires taking place in Minnesota right now, posting a statement that referred to the trial of former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin and the "heart-wrenching murder of George Floyd."

The express purpose of the trial is, in part, to determine whether Floyd was murdered, and the jury is no doubt nervous that an acquittal will inevitably ignite more widespread rioting and violence as seen all throughout 2020 and again this week, following the shooting death of Daunte Wright.


In what world would it be helpful for a former president, our first black one, to call the defendant in the Chauvin trial a murderer before jury deliberation has even begun?

But Obama doesn't seem so much as a former president as a current activist advancing the cause of social justice. And under social justice, due process is an obstacle, not an entitlement.

It's not as if Obama isn't an expert in rubbing the sore on controversies that the media have spun into race wars. After the 2013 shooting death of black Florida teenager Trayvon Martin, Obama held a press conference to declare that it was a personal matter. "You know, when Trayvon Martin was first shot, I said that this could have been my son," he said. "Another way of saying that is Trayvon Martin could have been me 35 years ago."

Barely a year into office, Obama dove into a local news story out of Cambridge, Massachusetts, to say that police "acted stupidly" in detaining a black Harvard University professor who had been suspected of breaking into a home. Even admitting, "I don’t know, not having been there and not seeing all the facts, what role race played in that," Obama still thought he should thrust himself into that one.
