They're worth every penny. If you can, always buy their brand of charcoal. |

It's a large. Which is the perfect size. $850 and that is just the egg. The metal nest which is what it sits in is $100. We got the wooden table instead. |

I'm guessing but I believe I have had my BGE for nealy ten years now. There have been hundreds of folks at my house over the years who have ate something from the green egg. After eating at my house I know of at least 20 or more people who bought one within one week after eating at my house. Probably another 20 bought one sometime later. I cook on mine at least 4 days a week year round. I gather cherry, apple, pecan and hickory wood like most gather fire wood for the winter. What you can cook on the bge is limited only to your imagination. Go to their forum for more awesome eating ideas. |

anyone who is thinking of buying one should, a lot of money but like they said worth every penny. By far the best grill i've owned or cooked on. Just buy the egg and build your own wooden stand |

Mine is 10 years old. I heard about them on here from Capt John. Built a table for mine. Need to replace the gasket. Things you have to get: Plate setter, cast iron grate, and a DigiQ. Cast iron grate @750 degrees and drop an 1-1/4" ribeye on it. Mmmmmm Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

You will enjoy your egg but please keep an eye on your table because they can catch fire. Check out these links, there have been some close calls and some house fires. |

Holly shit! Mines been in the same table for 10 years. I frequently let it burn out full blast with no problems. I put slate under it along with the feet. Also about an inch gap around it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Not my table. Was thinking about building me one and ran across those threads I put the links for. I still want a table but kind of scared now. Most of the fires were after a pizza cook or a cleaning burn. Scary part is several of them shut them down with the cap and vent early in the evening and the tables caught fire well after midnight while they were sleeping. |

That just doesn't make sense. I bet they don't have slate under them. Would be easy for an ember to get out of the screen. That's why I have the slate under it. |

I know these are the few exceptions and there are thousands out there that have never had a problem, but it still makes me think about it. I have read about it breaking pavers, tiles, and slate that was 1" thick. This one had feet and slate and he said this is after he heard a loud pop the slate had split just as you see in the picture. |

Fire is 6" above the bottom. I don't know. I've had mine to 750 degrees hundreds of times, and let it burn out wide open a bunch. I need to restain my table. I might raise it up a few more inches for air to circulate just to be sure. |

Thats a good looking table lastchance. Won't have to worry about a fire with that one. I'm still going to build me a table but I'll just keep a good check on it . |

If your like me and don't have the money to buy the Green Egg, the Akorn from Lowe's was a great buy for me. It's only $300 and I've cooked steaks at 700 religiously. I researched it a lot before I bought and they were extremely comparable to a Green Egg. I am sure they wont last a life time like an Egg, but if you get 10 years out of it with a price difference like that then it's still a good buy. Not knocking the Egg at all, I know they are worth the money, but I have had mine for two years and cook on it weekly and love every minute of it. Steaks, Corn, Pizza, Country Style Ribs. The sky is the limit. |
